How does one find their career

I’m currently in high school and I feel this sort of existential depression about wanting to become someone great who can create tangible change. Such as a lawyer. However my mind is drawn back to this puzzle that a lawyer and a janitor make the same impact but in different scales. They both seek to make the lives of the people/organisations they serve a bit easier. Whether it be literally through the law, or simply making a table clean for someone to do their work on, this is helping people. How can a janitor be happier than a lawyer or vice versa. I’m stuck because all jobs help people. Sometimes I just think it’s easier to become a social recluse. Maybe I’m being dramatic.

But if I look at my ambitions, I do genuinely want to become a lawyer (well I want to be someone that has done something significant). Particularly a health related one. Because one, I have a strong desire to help those in need and two, it would satisfy my curiosities and interests in making tangible change in both peoples lives, psychology, and health industry. And the earning potential is a plus.

Currently yr11 - wanting to do law and eventually do sth in healthcare related law. Unimelb has the postgrad system but I heard it’s super hard to get into JD and also insanely expensive. If I go there I’d plan to do a Bsci in psych and then JD. I wanted to get some perspective on the impact of the debt (eg. is it normal to amass that amount of debt and how long it may take to pay it off) and how hard is it to get CSP or scholarships around that. Further I hear that unimelb is js a rly high standard education and can foster rly bright ppl from there.

My other option is go Monash and either do just a LLB or a double degree in Law and either science or psych. (If I go here I’m leaning towards double degree) and Monash costs a little less. And has a lower atar requirement compared to Melb graduate degree package.

Distance-wise they’re both basically the same, Monash is like 15mins longer.

How do u deal with stress coz im currently in year 11 and i feel less focused then I was last year and all my subjects are not doing as good (all around mid 80s)

My 1/2s:

Chem, Eng, methods, socio (this one is 95+)

3/4: Chinese cls, psych

I feel like im struggling the most with chem and mm since Chen’s pretty content dense imo and it’s hard to not fall behind and also easy to get ‘trapped’ in what seem to be abstract nonsense of a bunch of random letters. (Org chem). Secondly for mm, I fear ive become too complacent and had a lack of practice and it’s hard to establish a routine, much like I did last year in adv math, where I actually consolidated stuff after class. And idk I’ve been getting 70s on tests an it’s frustrating and I also js dk abt extended responses like I tend to not think logically or ‘see the big picture.’

1/2 exams are quite literally next week along with SACS the week after..

I don’t feel super stressed but I’m stating to become more and more as my grades and ig my attitude has started to reflect that.
