Those that WANT to avoid surgery

I know that this is a weird thing because unfortunately so many women NEED surgery but have trouble getting it/ getting medically gaslit etc.

I guess I’ve just always had an irrational fear of surgery. When I saw a specialist they highly recommended it, said they were very confident they would find lesions based on my symptoms and MRI and that surgery would be the most effective treatment.

But if I’m wanting to avoid it, what other things helped y’all. They mentioned PFPT (already did this, had just minimum improvement) and BC pills. Those that had success with BC pills, which ones were you prescribed/ which actually worked for you.

Can I ask a nanny to change how they… smell?

New to having a nanny. She uses those fragrance beads in her own laundry and she uses A LOT so her clothes are very very strongly fragrant. I WFH and I can smell when she is coming down the stairs from the second floor before she even reaches the first floor. At the end of the day the house starts to smell like the fragrance beads were poured out everywhere . Every time she hands me back my baby, the smell is so so overwhelming too.

When we interviewed it must’ve been before she started using those laundry beads. Idk how to address this because it’s truly so strong idk how she doesn’t have a headache, I do just from the second hand smell🙈😭

FTM, not sure what’s normal

FTM with a three month old and our nanny started three days ago. I work hybrid so sometimes I’m home. Every time I step out of the home office the nanny is on her phone scrolling (while holding baby at least). I know there’s not a tooooon for a 3 month old to do so would it be weird to ask her not to be on her phone so much?

She gets paid well and the reference she gave me all said she was great and never mentioned this was an issue so maybe it’s normal?

Realistic fatigue solutions

Back to posting in this group because what they say about pregnancy is true.

I felt great while pregnant. For a while I forgot how miserable Endo was. Now my periods have returned along with all my symptoms from pelvic pain to headaches to fatigue to weakness to even weird internal vibrations I used to feel before pregnancy.

Realistically what has helped everyone with fatigue. Pain, headaches I can take a pill for. But idk how to care for my baby being this fatigued and weak.

Has this ever happened to anyone ever. Please please please help

FTM gave birth in May. I had a first degree tear during birth . They said it was pretty small so I asked them to not suture it. They insisted on it and agreed. Whatever I was exhausted- third day of labor and just enjoying my baby. It took them a very long time to suture. Like way longer than it should have for a first degree tear.

When washing down there shortly after I felt sooo many stitches like not in my perineum but very high up into the labia. I thought to myself maybe this is normal. I was exhausted and didn’t think to ask about it. 10 days after birth I messaged my OB that it felt and looked like some stitches might’ve opened because at the very bottom of my stitches (at the end of my labia closer towards the anus) I felt a second hole, where I figured the actual tear in the perineum might’ve been. She said she can take a look and so a few days later I went into the office and she said everything looked normal. I asked her why the stitches are so high up on my labia and she said that’s normal to start stitching up so high and that it will resolve on its own. I believed and trusted her. “Appropriate laceration healing for 2 weeks” is all she wrote in the visit note.

Two weeks later I went to UC for pelvic pain and vaginal discomfort. They swabbed for infections and also took a look down there and said it looked like the sutures “were not well approximated. The vaginal opening is very small.”.

So I informed my OB of this and they said they’ll take another look in two weeks for my 6 week post partum visit.

At the visit, a different practitioner saw me and told me I had major labial fusion. They affirmed the appearance of a second smaller hole between the perineum and the part where the labia was fused too. However, they said its unlikely the sutures were placed too high up because at the two week visit the doctor wrote that everything looked fine. They said the labia just either fused on their own or I had some trauma between the 2 week visit where the OB said everything’s fine and the 4 week visit to the UC when the practitioner noted the labial fusion. I assured them nothing happened in that time and that even at my 2 week visit I could see the suture were too far up but just trusted the OB that that was normal and would resolve on its own. They ended up just referring me to a surgeon to cut apart the labia.

I was so upset that the OB did not document my concern at the 2 week visit about the stitches being too high up. They also called the original OB to explain the situation and she said she doesn’t remember seeing anything but normal heeling. I felt totally disregarded. And they responded to my obvious worry just like “it’s fine, it’s nothing surgery can’t fix.” At the end they turned to my husband who was there and said “it just means you have to wait longer to resume sex. I know that sucks doesn’t it?”

Am I crazy or is something not adding up? Has anyone’s labia fused together after birth by itself after just a small first degree tear? Has anyone had the issue of the vaginal opening getting smaller? Why do they not believe me when I say both me and my husband looked down there 10 days after and saw that the stitching was way overdone and on like half of my labia. And that this is what I shared with the OB right away too! I’m just so confused and scared right now.

Dressing for the temperature

FTM due in 12 days!

One thing that makes me nervous is we are in Texas and summers get HOT. some days it’s not possible to keep the indoor temp under 78 even with AC running all day (old house).

Is there a definitive source for how to dress baby at different temperatures? Especially for sleep! I want better information on how to pair attire with a swaddle or sleep sack based on the temperature because I find conflicting info and images online.

FTM 36w

Is it normal for baby movement to feel not as strong in last month pregnancy? Is the concern bigger if there’s less movement but not necessarily that movement feels muted?

My baby has been moving during his usual periods (after meals, before bed). But the movements feel kind of quieter over the last few days. Feels like I have an extra layer of skin or something buffering the movement haha. PS I have a fetal Doppler and at least I know his heart rates ok🙈

FTM currently 35.5 weeks pregnant. My husband is generally very much not paying attention to his phone/ always has it silenced or do not disturb. This is especially true during work hours since he started his new job. When did you ladies make your husbands pay attention to their phone? I fear I will go into labor while we are still at work and he won’t know for a couple hours haha.

Similarly- when should I also request that he stops traveling. He has to travel both for work and to visit a sick relative. I want him to do that ASAP but he may not be able to for another two weeks. We recently moved to a new city away from all family and only have casual friends/ acquaintances nearby so kind of nervous being left alone atp🙈
