I’m completely new to fighting games. I got into Guilty Gear Strive recently after seeing a video that said to just pick a character that clicks with you (Baiken is SO awesome), and honestly, I didn’t even think I’d enjoy the genre that much. I also picked up Granblue Versus and I’m having a blast with it too!

But something about these games just hooked me. Getting used to inputs, slowly understanding what’s going on… it’s been really fun (and frustrating at times, not gonna lie).

Today I finally made it to Bronze, and I know it’s not a huge rank or anything, but it feels like real progress for me.

I’d really love if someone could recommend a Discord where I can play with people and learn. None of my friends want to try fighting games, so it gets a bit lonely sometimes. (try a few but they seem abandon, not active community at all)

For context, I’m pretty new to the fighting game genre. I recently started with Guilty Gear Strive after watching a video that suggested finding a character that “clicks” with you.

After watching and trying a few games like GGST and Granblue Fantasy , some characters really caught my attention. In Guilty Gear, I’ve been playing Baiken and I’m having an absolute blast with her. No other character has given me that same feeling so far (maybe Jack-O’, but I’m not quite there yet).

In Granblue, Meg and Narmaya give me a similar vibe to what I felt with Baiken, which makes me want to keep exploring the genre.

One thing to keep in mind: I’m still a beginner and not very mechanical, so I tend to stick to simpler gameplay and basics (i dont do combos lol, not there yet)

So I wanted to ask: based on this, do you have any character or game recommendations for someone new like me? And if so, do you think I’ll have a good time with these characters?
