Getting metal releases updates
Hey everyone. So i created this new website www.metal-vault.com, main idea of this whole thing is that you can filter all the updates to your liking and you get updates retroactively with an email (so you get info about releases that are already out and you can start listening them straight away). You don't have to go through a flood of lists or feeds which is what inspired me to create this website in the first place. There's no filtering options.
The main goals for the time being are: For users:
- Get updates on latest releases based on their own personal preferences to remove all the noise and filter out everything you don't want to see.
- Share your good finds with others
- Filter out events by your favorite lineup or region
- Pin posts or events for later tracking (it's your personal pinboard if you want to listen to something later)
For Bands:
- Provide more reach for very niche target audience for new releases
- Promote your band merch
- More developments coming in the future for bands as well (like non-monthly subscription based store and more)
Promoters:
- Add your event to Events
- Promote your event
Best way to use the website: For users:
- Create account, go to "Follow artist" menu option and upload your favorite bands lists. You can add your favorites manually or check out the 2 guides, 1 guide is to create a txt file of all the band names from your local music folder, 2nd option is to request data from Spotify as well. Due to Spotify blocking 3rd party apps as of may 2025, direct followed artist sync is no longer possible.
- Go to "Subscribe to Updates" menu option and turn on getting emails. Email work retroactively as in the email includes albums that came out in the selected time period so you can go and listen to them right away.
- Use pinning option if you want to save some post for later listening for yourself
