My friend had an extra ticket last night so I figured why not. I only knew two of songs; Bad Company and Never Enough. The rest I never heard before. They have the lyrics on screen and I’m reading them like wtf. EVERY song is the same edgy “pain”, “deranged”, “I’m insane”, “nobody understands me”, “I don’t give a shit”.

All I could picture was some kid who gets bullied in school etching these lyrics into their desk. FFDP makes music for mass shooter’s manifestos.

Energy was great. Content fucking sucked.

Edit: oh yea they also had some weird anime Call of Duty movie play in the middle of the show. Weird ass military propaganda

I'll start: rap metal. From any era

Because they keep popping up in my facebook feeds, and extremely rarely, spotify. I dont understand the genre that is Lorna Shore. Let me be more specific, the vocals of Lorna Shore. I dont understand how someone can listen to a band where you have to have the lyrics printed out in front of you to be able to follow along. Are there people out there who can listen to them, him in this instance and immediately know what he's saying? I think instrumentally, they are great. No hate coming from me, legit asking for understanding

I mean, aside from obvious ones like "only eat the non toxic metals."

I realized I have more fun when I have certain "quests" to do. Like "listen to every album by [insert band] this year and log my thoughts on each one." Or "Write about my first impressions of a new genre I'm trying." It makes the music more memorable when I can associate each album and band with a different activity I was doing, like I still remember when I decided to marathon extreme metal to find a band I liked. I discovered a handful of cool bands but I also have a unique memory that makes those bands/albums stick out to me in a way that goes beyond "I heard this song one day and thought it was cool."

Im new to the metal scene I've been listening to metal for this whole day and I was put on by my best friend she's a metalhead lol.

I imagine Black Sabbath were decently popular when they came out, so how come there weren’t many bands that sounded similar to them in the 70s? Sure, there were a couple, but I’d imagine for how groundbreaking their sound was that it would’ve caused a lot of new bands to pop up, yet the genre kind of stagnated until the 80s. How come?
