I imagine Black Sabbath were decently popular when they came out, so how come there weren’t many bands that sounded similar to them in the 70s? Sure, there were a couple, but I’d imagine for how groundbreaking their sound was that it would’ve caused a lot of new bands to pop up, yet the genre kind of stagnated until the 80s. How come?

Has anybody had any luck sending fan mail to the band (Davey in particular)? I want to write a letter (no not with blood) and have seen a couple addresses online, but I just wanted to see if anyone had success receiving mail back within recent times.
