Fern ID? And why does my baby springtails like to hangout in the glass?

Sooo I collected this fern(?) near my house a month ago and it’s been thriving(?) in my terrarium, its honestly so pretty i wanna know what is it and why does the majority of my baby springtails like to walk around the glass? (The adults r on the substrate)

should I expose my terrarium to light constantly?

hi! this is my first time making terrarium from plants I found around my neighborhood and im planning to keep it in my room with LED study lamp as light source, should I keep the lamp on all the time or should I turn it off every ??? hour?

is mesh necessary for terrarium?

hi! i’ve been hyperfixated on terrariums lately and wanted to start my very first :D and I keep seeing people add mesh(?) to separate the drainage and soil layer, is the mesh important? and if yes what kind of mesh do y’all usually use….sorry if the questions a bit weird…
