Card(s) tested: Border Fort

Here comes another idea: Obvious inspiration: Border Village.

So the first card was my first idea. But i tought: Is it really fair? So i tried version 2.

Then i was remembered of this card: Desperation. That is also 2 cards for 5 points, so this is just a variant of that card.

I think both version play nice. I like the idea that you can try to deplete 4 kingdom piles of the second version. And since you can't get a duchy, you are going to get action cards.

But the $6 cost version is much cleaner. I must say, it was barely used for greening and actions, mostly it was used for grabbing a duchy. Greening and action was less used.

Can't decide if i am going to keep both versions (and give 1 another name) or drop 1 of them.

My pantheon of ...

my first try to put my whole pantheon in 1 image.

For this world, my creative proces started with 1 god: The God of Tea and Thunder. From there on out more and more gods where created.

I try to get as much flavour in as short amount of time. So:
Name
Domains
Title
Symbol
Colors

And this image where something is shown about my idea of the world and the lineage.

i can see in a later stadium it could be worked out in a pantheon picture that would actually be shown in this world.

So what do you think? Ask me anything that sparked your interest.

This is the table i used if it is hard to read:

Card Tested: Badlands

When we cooked up this card, i was very skeptical. Was it too strong, or to weak. So it needed to be tested.

Testing showed it was on the weak side... but also on the fun side. It says there whispering to you: "The game is going to end soon, why don't you take me?". And: "What if you managed to trash a copper". (And low and behold, somebody managed to do that!)

Playing it, there is an argument to cost it at $5, but i am not convinced that is healthy. I could test it out, of course.

Rulescheck: Does this work, or does it break

I like the card Inheritance, but boy, that rules text! I had to explain that card multiple times, but usual i just say: "You can play estates like they are that action card you put to the side"

Can you just put it like that on the card?
Or does this break the game in any way i have not foreseen?

edit: Inheritence rewording would then be:
Set aside a non-Command Action card from the Supply costing up to $4. Move your Estate token to it.
During your turn, you may play an estate as if it is that action card set aside. It remains that action card for as long it is in play".

Card tested: City Barge

So i like those cards like the ferrymen and the riverboat. With so many cards, these cards make it so you secretly playing more then 10 kingdom cards.

So this was the design I came up with this design.

The first variant was called: "Slave Trade"... oké, i think this name is better.

The first iteration had 3 options. That was too much. So you could have gone 2 ways:
- increase it's cost
- remove 1 of the options.

I tested the seconde one, and it feels pretty good. But i think the other option would also play fine.

Faith of Gulvroth, sinister sense

I was working on my pantheon. One of my gods:
Gulvroth, god of fertility and slaughter!
Father of Appetites

Yes, that faith can be something very sinister! And while I was working out some details… did these followers and this god just make too much sense?

“You believe in a god that only wants to eat you”

“…. Jeah… and?”

“How does it feel to be treated as cattle!”

“I see where you are going. Let me ask you a question: Does a Shepard wants to eat its flock or does he want his flock to prosper”

…..

“Both, the answer is both. He takes care of the young, he takes care of the sick. He makes sure their bellies are fed and they are protected from other predators”.

“…but he only does it to eat you…”

“Yes, and until that time comes, he loves his sheep. The goal of the sheep and of the Shepards do align for most of their lives. Sheep want to have a happy, safe life. And Shepards wants tasty sheep: Happy sheep are tasty sheep.”

“But then he kills you. You are willingly going to get slaughtered.”

“We all must die someday, why not by the hands of someone who showed you love. Gulvorth’s favourite treat is fat fulfilled souls, so all we have to do is living long fulfilling lives. And when you know you have reached that point, you can go on your own terms.
And when you are consumed, you become a small part of Gulvroth, together with your family that is eaten before you. “
