Possible reasons behind the deaths of people went out from 17

Technically, the deaths in Silo 17 look more like gunshot wounds to me. This is from S02E01, and judging by the tears and holes in their clothes, it seems more likely they died from gunfire. I’m not sure those could’ve developed from years of decay, but the pattern really does look like bullet damage.

That makes me wonder if they were killed by whatever attacked Kennedy and Lukas, rather than by the outside toxicity/poison.

🔄 Update

Since it’s only been around 30 years since the rebellion in Silo 17, it seems unlikely that the clothes would decay that much, unless those are actually bullet holes.

More accurate theory about cleaning process, outside Air & more

Sorry if someone posted before, searched but couldn’t find it,

Cleaning:

>!When it comes to cleaning / Going outside, they spray the toxin / poison within the chamber, Therefore in this case, suite is protective but the quality of tape/ sensor wool has to do with how long they can last since the poison is sprayed all over them. This is why they have 48 hour window before re opening again and also burning the chamber after someone gone out to protect them selves from poison.!<

Silo 17:

>!In Silo 17, things were different, if you watched carefully they manage to by pass the spraying poison part when they go out. They directly open the final door, that’s why poison didn't get them. But whatever the thing drone / the thing with buzzing sound killed them all, there is nothing to do with outside air, they are successfully went outside until the drone part.!<

The Wind

>!As per Solo, after they went outside, something wind-like swept through. So technically, it could be drones a swarm of them, or whatever that buzzing thing was kicking up all that dust as they moved.!<

Air Quality:

>!Outside air is clean as usual it’s breathable. !<

Camile and Algorithm:

>!As per the discussion with Camille and AI in recent episodes, It's obvious that they successfully prevented safeguard momentarily which means, they have been neutralized. There is no mention of poison. This took place right after it mentioned about Lukas and Kennedy are neutralized, so it's the way of saying that do not come out we would neutralize not part of the poison nor the poisonous air.!<

🔄 Updates:

Why Trees didn't grow:

>!The soil could be pesticide in a way to keep the appearance intentionally (nothing will grow). The silo zone is also literally abandoned, It's been 300+ years, It's a few meter of soil between High concrete. The trees were decorations. So technically it ain't a forest or similar place to grow, no maintenance would be a perfect answer for that. Also this is a TV show, I don't think they would bring whole nature lifecycle (like in Net geo / discovery) either. Or this simply can be world ending part where the environment was severely damaged.!<

No they won't run out of poison

>!There is a mentioning of poison pipe that come to judicial from Silo 1, like electricity for IT, so I don't believe they would run out of poison, probably it would diverted from the pipeline that comes from judicial.!<

Sorry, I’m refraining from commenting, some people seem to downvote intentionally for no reason. I'll try to keep up updating this post with suggestion or answer, check back, thanks :)

Partial theory on Gus Knox’s Dad and Miners

Finding 1: >!Stealing from critical supply is happening for quite sometime, but in 3 months alone decades worth of supplies are gone. This is the same period as Juliet turned on the water pump in silo 17. My guess is, miners might have tried digging the way through silo 17 stopped since the water issue and get back to mine again. Or this could be other way around, they been about reach the silo, Juliet action might caused them to stay put in somewhere due to water issue, that require more supply, some how this can be connected!<

Finding 2: >!Gus seems like a very smart guy. There is a mention of diamond drill, and he did something for the Ed Harwood. They know mines were approximately 300+ years old, probably there could be possible knowledge sharing between miners to miners as well (head). So he could be in charge of the things they doing secretly. !<

Diamond drill: >!This is could be used to gain access to something real harden. They should have encountered something real hard to deal with, where the Diamond drill can only be the option. As per my finding this can be more than a regular silo’s wall since it could tackled with explosives. This could be more like the Silo 1/51 to me!<

Update:
Diamond drill: >!As per some suggestions, this could be used to make a compact drill machine, that can dig horizontally, this fits the scenario "Gus built something to Ed Harwood".!<

Spiral Notebook: >!This sought by IT heads around 300+yrs, this could be in the possession of miners. As per last episode, this more likely to contain knowledge of before time and revival of hope for a future in a livable world outside. Miners probably working towards something with these knowledge!<

Secret Tunnel within silo: Miners seem to have more access to the silo than most others. That could also explain how supplies are being stolen from storage areas beyond just Critical Supply.

It feels like there’s a much bigger operation happening on the mining side of the silo that we still know almost nothing about.

Silo design, Safe guard, and things behind Salvador Quinn, Master Silo Location and Ultimate end

Note: My own theory, clearly something up with certain people, whom happened to down vote my every comments. I decided to not to comment further, Yes the text is perfect, I use AI to do grammar check. Please refrain from commenting some people deliberately downvote.

Theory: Probably world is f*cked up in end times, people like Victor Crnkovich might believes that engineering a perfect human civilization would be an utmost success that would restore humanity in world. Supporting reference (“End times can not lived, but that can be survived” - from S3 trailer)

The Design: Each silo is steered toward experimenting with certain population characteristics and observing how people behave. It’s more like social engineering using the Pact, the Order, and so on.

Silo Clusters: Depending on the experiment’s goals, silos can be grouped into clusters.

Possible Variations: There could be variations in which faction/group steers each silo. IT, Judicial, or other factions might have different levels of control from silo to silo.

Silo Yard (where the silos are located): A purposefully controlled, poisonous outdoor environment designed to prevent test subjects from interacting with the outside world/ other silo.

Population Control: Birth control and job changes are used to steer the population.

Safeguard & Vitamin D+: When the larger system starts going off-course from the experiment, it first attempts a soft reset by erasing memories and confiscating any objects / relics that could help recover memory. In case of failure, it executes the Safeguard as a fail-safe. This prevent from abandoning a silo (like silo 17)

Restart: People most likely sent down from the tunnel located below (if my final guess is 2nd option - see below)

What is comparatively dangerous from the silo system’s perspective:

  1. It’s not someone going outside, but another silo seeing someone outside.
  2. Interconnecting with the outside world and outsiders (survivors) learning about the silos.
  3. This could also be one reason the AI suggests dawn as the time for them to go outside toward Silo 17.

Elimination: Based on the goals, a single silo within each cluster may ultimately be selected according to the objective/ulterior motive as implied by Silo 1. Others would be eliminated by safeguard.

Why Salvador Quinn quits: It may not be about the manipulation, the Safeguard, or anything else. He might have realized that only one silo would ultimately be considered eligible to go outside (within the cluster if happened to be).

Silo 2-6: Silo 2-6 might probably consists of higher ranking managerial people

Silo 51 & the Master Silo: I’ve two guesses

  1. >!This silo could be located outside the silo yard, possibly somewhere within the wider outside world. As for the outside world, yes, it appears to be recovering, but with a very low population probably survivors who are being hunted by the system.!<
  2. >!A Silo different from other hidden very underneath, that connects every silo via tunnels located at underneath of each silo. That can contain more critical supplies, tools to reboot the civilization and to reach the top.!<

Ultimate end could be >!everything was working as intended until something went wrong years ago and pushed the experiment off course. Now Silo 1 stuck in an unfortunate closed loop, AI keeps preserving a damaged system and everyone forget about everything other than their regular duty. Probably someone reach there with a relic to get memory back and turn things back / escape hatch kind of scenario. My potential sus is the girl who act like Juliet who end the game !<

Read between the lines 🧐

This got me wondering whether the show is trying to camouflage something else underneath these conversations.

There are two “read between the lines” references in S03E06, only a few minutes apart.

The first comes during Halen and Daniel’s conversation about journalistic fraud.

Then, shortly afterward, during Camille and Sims’ conversation about their son, Camille basically says:

“I need to read between the lines.”

And from that point, the conversation starts feeling strangely indirect almost like they’re speaking in code rather than saying what they actually mean.

The way I interpreted it, there might be a connection between Sims and whatever is being stolen from Supply.

Anyone else get the feeling that the conversation is hiding something bigger?

Suggestion: Start a petition for Season 4

Anyone interested in starting a petition on Change.org to convince them to make Season 4 the final season? Since they basically ghosted viewers halfway through right after Season 3, that feels like a pretty legitimate reason to start one 😅

[Theory] Safeguard, predictions past S03E06 and ideas behind AI (heavy spoiler warning!)

Safeguard:

What if the Safeguard isn’t actually poison gas? What if it’s related to that strange cloud like stuff from S03E01 the thing that seemed to mess with Charlotte’s squadron planes?

Past S03E06 predictions:

  1. AI would sabotage the suite: Since we know cleaning is a controlled process, AI could sabotage their suite in different ways like lack of oxygen, malfunction, and even can show a different video in helmet display / completely blackout
  2. Why does AI choose dawn time for them to go outside?
    • Fewer people/crowds to deal with
    • Less chance of other silos noticing what’s happening
    • It probably won’t be a walk in the park for Silo 17 this time they could run into suit problems or some kind of external danger.
    • (20-30% likely) There could be some kind of danger outside that only appears at certain times, which might even explain what happened to Silo 17. In pic #1, you can see some people made it pretty far beyond the silo’s outer edge.
  3. They would probably make it to silo 17 in a way that AI thinks they are dead
  4. Since Solo doesn’t seem to have a radio, someone from Silo 18 probably brings one along.
  5. Then it’s more likely that they would start talking via radio in code (as Bernard says in the last episode)
  6. [Issue] : Since Silo 17 seems to have been dead for a long time, communication could be tricky especially if Silo 1 is monitoring all the active radio channels.
  7. Since Solo already knows about the other silos, anyone who makes it to Silo 17 could eventually learn about the silo interconnections too. See pic #2.
  8. The bomb scene in the trailer looks more like they’re planting it inside the silo, possibly as part of an attempt to stop the Safeguard. Still, the suit situation feels sus. See pic #3.
  9. [The new guy]: They’ll probably meet the new guy (see pic #4) at the airplane hangar shown in the trailer. He could be some kind of head of the operation or at least someone pretty high up in whatever is happening there.

Silo 1-6 & AI : It’s not just an AI program, it feels more like a combination of human input and AI working together.

  • The bigger question is how they’ve stayed alive this long. Cryosleep maybe? The AI handles things most of the time, then wakes the right people only when they’re needed.
  • Daniel could be involved in the decision-making side of things. Based on what they’re doing, I wouldn’t be surprised if his memory gets wiped between cycles.
  • Victor could also be somewhere inside Silo 1. Camille teaching Jules that same breathing technique Victor uses with Charlotte feels way too specific to ignore. And the recent therapy speeches
  • Worst-case theory: Silos 1–4 could all be working together, with Silo 1 acting as the prime node controlling the rest.

Can’t wait to see Kennedy boy’s face

The guy who always wanted to go out… I’m guessing he knows everything by now. Can’t wait to see his face when Jules finally asks him to go outside. That scene is gonna be fun, probably with a new kind of F-bombs thrown in ;)

Any theory / ideas on Kelly and Angus?

In Last episode, it looked like they got struck by lightning, the ground was completely fried. Then this episode, they suddenly wake up on some prison rock? Got any theories? I’m kinda curious… next Friday feels way too far away lol.

What the heck outsider means

Tbh, I’m confused. the silo is literally sealed shut. Is it because they were doing things outside the Pact?

What are the chances that people in mines already reached another silo?

From the recent episode (S03E05) we know that light bulbs are the key to keep the farms alive. What are the chances that Lukas and other people digging horizontally and already reached other silo and light bulbs could be to power up other silo farm. The light bulb and the amount of years reduction from critical supply seems very Sus. It's obvious that, Its been more than 3+ months after Juliet arrival, a lot sh*t can be happened in the midst

Who Is the Mysterious Medicine Intermediary?

In the latest episode, S03E05, Sims talks to Regina (George’s ex) about switching the medicine through an intermediary. Who do you think that person could be? Or is it possible they haven’t appeared on the show yet?

Refugee shelter shown in S03E01

This is the refugee shelter Camille shows Juliette in S03E01. Since it’s helmet-cam footage, someone must have gone there before, my guess is Salvador Quinn.

My theory is that when the Safeguard is activated, the silo overseer can escape to this shelter and stay there until the silo resets and things return to normal. Otherwise, Judge Mary Meadows asking to go outside and Bernard being willing to do the same wouldn’t make much sense. They were never really afraid of going outside themselves; they were more concerned about the safety of the silo.

The Wizard of Oz ending mentioned by Mary Meadows also seems to support this theory.

Ideas on silo Map

I’ve been doing some digging based on the Silo map shown in the Season 3 trailer, and it looks like there could be some kind of overseer hierarchy between the silos.

Looking closely, Silo 1 appears to be the central node, possibly the one in control, while Silos 2–6 could belong to higher-ranking ones.

My theory is that all the silos are technically connected, and the tunnel at the bottom of each silo may be the route between them. Since the safeguard pipes are located on Level 14, as shown in S02E10, which could also support this idea.

In Pic 1, the areas highlighted in red look like shared or common sections. These could exist both underground, along the paths connecting the silos, and above ground. The video walk to a shelter unit that Camille show (in S03E01) can be a point from this section.
