My cousin is demanding a cut of my lottery winnings

So I won a pretty decent amount from a scratch-off ticket last week. Nothing life-changing like millions but enough to pay off my car and get a nice down payment on a house. I told my immediate family you know parents and siblings. Word apparently got around to my extended family because now my cousin is calling me non-stop.

He says we used to buy tickets together back in high school. That was like ten years ago. We bought two tickets once. He bought one I bought one. We never won anything. Now he's saying since we had this 'history' I owe him a percentage. He's talking about legal action and everything. It's insane.

I haven't even claimed the prize yet. I was going to quietly handle things. Now I'm scared to even talk to anyone about it. Has anyone dealt with this kind of entitlement from family members after good fortune?

Whats a career red flag that made you immediately nope out of a job application process?

I'm curious about the things that just scream 'run away' when you're looking for a new job. We always talk about green flags but what are the instant dealbreakers?

Maybe it was a bizarre interview question. Or the Glassdoor reviews were terrifying. Perhaps the job description felt really off. What made you hit the brakes on a potential career move? And what happened when you saw it?

Unsure about solar panel financing options

Hey everyone. I'm looking into getting solar panels installed on my home. I've had a few quotes and the prices are a bit higher than I expected. I'm wondering if anyone has gone down the path of financing their solar system. Is it worth it to get a specific solar loan or should I just use my redraw facility on my mortgage? I'm trying to work out the best financial option long term. Any advice or experiences would be great.

IWTL how to stop being so sensitive and take things less personally

I feel like I'm constantly getting my feelings hurt. It's usually over small things people say or do. A casual comment from a friend or a slight change in tone can send me spiraling. I replay interactions in my head and assume the worst. I know it's not healthy and I want to change. I just want to be able to brush things off like other people seem to do. It takes a huge toll on my mental energy. How do I develop a thicker skin?

Whats the most surprising hidden cost you found in your regular spending?

I recently went through my bank statements trying to figure out where all my money goes. I expected to find the usual suspects like subscriptions or takeout. But what really surprised me was how much I was spending on 'convenience' items at the grocery store.

Things like pre-cut veggies or single-serving snacks add up so fast. I thought I was saving time but I was actually spending an extra $50-70 a month just for things I could easily do myself. It's a small change but it felt like a real eye-opener.

Has anyone else found something like this? A recurring small expense that you didn't even realize was costing you a lot?

My landlord is charging me for pest control for squirrels and I think it is unfair

Location: Seattle Washington

I live in an apartment on the third floor. I've been here for about a year and a half. A few months ago I started hearing noises in my attic. I reported it to my landlord. They sent someone out and said it was squirrels. They set some traps and patched up a small hole they found.

Now I just got my new lease renewal and there's an extra charge on my bill for "pest control services" specifically for the squirrels. It's like $300. I think this is totally unfair. I didn't cause the squirrels. It's an old building. The hole was in the attic. Is this something they can charge me for? I thought the landlord was responsible for pest control.

What are my options here? Should I try to fight it or do I have to pay?
