TADC is not an "Adult show" like Gooseworx and and fans claim

it's simply not, Gooseworx and fans love to insist it's "Not for kids! 1!1!1! too scary for children! 1!1! sooooo adult! 1!1!1!" Please, the original Adventure Time show made for kids (or rather, all ages including kids) is more mature and serious than this show manages to be 99% of the time, literally anybody of any age could easily handle watching this show, there's literally only IMPLICATIONS of swearing (like every kids show in history) and "Zooble mentions sex" is PG-13 if we really push it, there's nothing about this show that's adult, not it's themes (literally every emotion the characters ever convey is something almost anyone over the age of 12 has felt at some point) not it's visuals, nor it's tone. this is literally a show for teenagers that don't know what a good story is yet.

sorry if this is a little incoherent but it really does piss me off how people pretend TADC is "Adult" 90% of the fanbase is teenagers and that's for a reason

how does Secret Neighbor fit into the lore?

Secret Neighbor is, in my opinion, the most fun-to-play Hello Neighbor game. it is extremely fun to play as the Neighbor (when winning) and it's not too bad to play as one of the kids, getting into the basement is very rewarding.

but I have to say, the game mechanics (while very fun) make absolutely no sense in the lore as far as I know. While there's a lot of implications of magic and such in the Hello Neighbor universe the neighbor is kinda just some dude who lost half his family (66.66% if not counting himself) and probably has killed people, but again he's a human man in I believe his 30's 40's or even 50's in the first few games, so how on earth is he passing as a child or doing all that OTHER magical stuff? surely the game can't be implying he's just putting on a costume and this is simplified to transformation for games sake because he'd still be much too large even if that was the case, and that doesn't even begin to explain the other neighbors you can play as.

is Secret Neighbor non-canon besides the fact the kids are trying to save Nicky, is that the only canon part of the game or is Mr. Peterson's really supposed to be magically transforming into the kids in seconds and they're buying it?

I have no problem with it from a gameplay standpoint but it just doesn't make a lick of sense from what I know about Hello Neighbor lore (And mind you I've played several of the games and read a few of the books)

I need help making a Fangame/Reboot of Hello, Neighbor! (some quickly drawn concept art shown here)

apologies upfront if my post is a bit of a mess, I didn't rewrite it after the first draft.

I have made a previous post which you can find here, if you do not want to read the entire linked post, here is a brief summary of the games concept: Hello, Neighbor in a new artstyle that is mostly based on Pre-Alpha and Alpha 1 Artstyle (buzz Lightyear's on shelves gif here) but I promise this IS very different from other fan games. this isn't "what if act 1 but in old artstyle!! and unnecessarily high difficulty!!" my idea is that some of your other neighbors are also active as the neighbor (Mr. Peterson) and that your player has a reputation (this sounds like hello neighbor 3 a bit, I'm aware.) There is a lot more to it but I don't want to share too much because I don't want all of my ideas stolen before my fangame even exists in a meaningful capacity, maybe it's silly of me to be protective of my ideas for a fangame of Hello, Neighbor! but I am. The game will (if made) have complex intertwining systems and the way you play will actually MATTER, the game will have multiple endings.

this is some VERY basic proof-of-concept art (the first image is Neighbors Karen and The Father of one of the Delinquents)

I am looking for anyone who can assist in the development in any way

REQUIREMENTS:

be at least 16 (preferably, exceptions COULD be made if exceptionally talented) I don't really feel comfortable working with people too young and also someone 16 is probably decently experienced while (most, but not all) younger people probably have almost no refinement of their talents.

be able to be patient with me (lol) I'm kind of bad at explaining my ideas first try, so I may need to re-explain things a few times and would prefer if I ask you to do something that you ask for clarification before beginning to save us both a headache

NOT USE AI IN ANY WAY. I do not want the art AI, I do not want the music AI, I do not even want the code to be AI. I want this made by humans and humans alone.

be a Hello, Neighbor! fan or at least someone who knows a lot about it, you probably are if you're on the sub in posting this on but it may also just end up in random people's feed I think, idk how Reddit works really

some more info about me and the game:

I am an artist and musician, so I may be able to guide people in the right direction when it comes to what I want by literally just cooking up an inferior version for them to work off of

Most of the aspects of the game I already know how I want to handle them and how they should intertwine, if I was good at coding and 3D modeling I'd just make this myself honestly.

I am flexible to making changes to my vision if your ideas are good, but I would say it is already a complete idea and just needs to be made.

DISCLAIMER: this is a passion project and I'm broke, I cannot pay you, or at the very least I cannot guarantee it.

The reason why it became the Jax show

I know maybe it seems like an overreaction to say this (and I am NOT encouraging people to harass her) but I think based on what Gooseworx has literally said herself, the reason that evil ass bunny is the main character is because it's her self insert character and she's evil too, simple as. a bad person got the opportunity to make a show so she made it all about her self insert who's also a bad person.

stupidity is just as bad as actual malice

if you're a moron you are just as bad as someone who is actively malicious, you will easily follow the lead and lies of a malicious person, you're difficult to communicate with through logic, and you're unlikely to ever change through logic because your brain can't handle anything beyond whoever the most charismatic figurehead to tell you what to believe is, or whatever dumb conclusion you come to yourself.

for example if you say vaccines aren't real because you're stupid, you are just as bad as someone who says they're not real because they're evil and are grifting. you're both normalizing not getting vaccines, letting kids have a high chance of dying early, and saying things that simply aren't true that other stupid people will copy. (this is just one example)

being the follower of someone or something evil because you're stupid is just as bad as if you were doing it because you're evil.

some clarifications before the reddit contrarians show up:

obviously single digit age kids aren't at fault for being dumb, they're kids.

I am not talking about people with mental disabilities, I'm talking about people that are "normal" but just plain stupid despite nothing actually being "wrong" with them according to a doctor.

I am not talking about any specific group of people with this post, if you think I'm talking about you then you should reflect on yourself instead of getting mad at me for my general statement

I know people can be poorly educated and have few physical resources but when you get to a certain age, we all have phones ffs, do some research on a reputable site if you can't afford a book or go to a library!!

sorry that I restated and clarifying my point multiple times, but people are prone to not understanding simple statements unless it's beat over their head.

I know everyone here probably sees titles like this a lot, but I think I have an idea for the best Hello Neighbor Fangame possible.

The title basically sums up all you need to know, I am planning to make a hello Neighbor Fangame but I sadly need help to make it (I'm a good artist, but not a very good modeler, 3D animator, or programmer) I would say I have 99% of the gameplay and features figured out, I just need help bringing them into fruition. also I'm broke (sadly) so if anyone is interested in helping make this game, it kinda has to be out of a deep love for what Hello Neighbor could have been.

Some details of the game so this isn't just a generic post with no reason to interest people:

The central premise of this Fangame (that is really more of a total redo of the game) is that the main character is a crazy person and that their actions aren't really proportional to their suspicions, and players will have to behave in a cruel manner to both Theodore and their other neighbors to find out what's happening in his basement.

The neighbor is not the only NPC, the neighborhood has several NPC's (represented by sentient mannequins with costumes on) these NPCs all have unique personalities that are distinct from each other and on top of this the player can actually talk to them and gain or lose reputation which changes how all other NPCs treat them (and I believe hello neighbor 3 is planned to have SOMETHING like this but the way it's handled here is pretty different I think, and also probably more competently if we're being honest)

A time system (beyond just the 4 time stages Hello Neighbor has) instead of the game being in Morning, Evening, Noon, Night like the actual Hello Neighbor is (or is if I remember correctly, I play it all the time but I still could be mistaken) each hour in the game is 15 minutes in real life, making each in-game day 6 hours (unless the player uses the bed or reading or some other option to skip time) the reason time is important is because the NPC's, including Mr. Peterson and all other neighbors have routines that depend both on the time of day and the day in particular, for example one neighbor who's temporary name for now is "Granny Gertrude" she begins making one pie every day at somewhere between 10 and 11 AM and has it on the window sill by 11:30 AM to 12 PM, it will no longer be on the window by 1 or 2 pm. the player can steal this pie to give it to other NPC's (including the neighbor) as a gift to increase reputation but if you are caught stealing the pie your reputation will go down, and not giving it back if "Granny Gertrude" catches you will hurt your reputation further. Another Example: there is an NPC named "Karen" that gardens in her front lawn, if she see's the player break into the neighbors house she will call the cops, so the player must distract her either with a noise, or wait until she's eating, sleeping, or at church on Sunday to break into the neighbors house without her seeing

Theodore Peterson will actually behave in a way that makes a lick of sense. he won't throw bear traps all over his house or somehow have the money for hundreds of cameras. on top of that the player will have to give him an actual reason to be aggressive for him to do so, he will be friendly towards the player until they break into his house and will only as much as force them to leave if he catches them (him having to throw you out if you don't walk out willingly after he drags you to the front door will decrease your reputation) and he may accept apologies in the form of gifts.

I don't want to share everything about my idea because I don't want someone stealing my idea and not crediting me and not letting me have any input on the changes, but hopefully what I have given away entices people. I want to make a Fangame that is worthy of the title "What Hello Neighbor could have been" I will share the rest of everything I've written down so far with anyone he seems actually interested in developing this, and if I do get a team together to make this I'll start releasing updates on the games progress.

What I need: at least 1 of each of the following, more would probably be helpful though. If you can do more than one of these that would be of great help.

Programmer Animator Sound Designer Artists (I'm an artist and a decent one, but it would probably be better for me to stick to making the concept art than final art for the game) Voice Actors (One for the neighbor, and probably at least 2 for the other NPC's)

EDIT: if you can help out or know anyone who can help out, PLEASE CONTACT ME!! Etc.

[SPOILER] Jax deserved the events of episode 9, but they were written poorly

I'm glad Jax died but it was handled poorly

that's pretty much it. I'm glad that stupid chud died but the way his death was written was stupid and uninteresting, Jax was just a chud who wasn't interesting past his cringe ass crashout because that was the last time it even seemed like something interesting was gonna happen with him.

It's obnoxious he took so much attention from Pomni (and everyone else throughout the entire show), and with the way gooseworx called him a self insert (Source: IdkIfLinksAreAllowedHereGoogleIt) his mere existence kinda explains why the show ended so poorly in the first place, of course irl Jax isn't gonna make a good finale and is just gonna edgelordmax.

Does anyone else still mourn what Hello Neighbor could have been?

Something that's always disappointed me is that the final version of Hello Neighbor was so low quality and not scary at all.

The original versions of the game had so much going for them, the realistic artstyle, the actually scary chase music, the fact the game was at least a little bit less broken, the fact the neighbor had any actual mystery to him, the fact there was a lot less bullshit platforming, etc

and sadly I really don't think any Hello Neighbor fan games have really managed to do what it felt like the game was going for before it became what it is now, Hello Neighbor: Vintage is close but the fnaf ending being an option kind of sullies it almost (I like fnaf though) I've played many fan games hoping to find one that felt like what Hello Neighbor would have been if it wasn't for the change in direction, but as of yet I haven't found any that are perfectly like that.

It's just sad to me, Hello Neighbor could have been so much more, but the developers didn't want that. and the fans (while talented and making decent games in their own right, certainly better than Hello Neighbor as it is now) don't really manage to hit that vibe perfectly either.

I guess maybe I should ask, does anyone know of a Hello Neighbor game that really truly feels like it's what Hello Neighbor would have been if the devs didn't go in the slop direction?
