Hi I'm looking to move into the IT field from the mechanical engineering field. Mostly because the work is boring and I like to be challenged and I've always been drawn towards this.

Any advice on how to go about it? I'd like to know what my options are...would be great if it's something that can be done while doing my current day job so that I don't get stuck in the middle

I have a degree in mechanical engineering and 5 years of experience in the relevant field. Just wondering what the market rate currently is at.
