I’m picking up my puppy in about a week and a half and I sent my breeder a message two days ago asking for some updated photos since I’ve only gotten one bunch this the whole time when he was 4 weeks old. Haven’t heard anything back yet.
Communication has been pretty much nonexistent since our very first conversation. I’ve had to initiate everything, responses are sparse, and I still don’t have a confirmed pickup date despite being less than two weeks out.
For comparison, a friend of mine is also getting a puppy from a different breeder and has been receiving unprompted photo updates regularly. He also got his confirmed pickup date two weeks ago.
The breeder has a solid reputation so I’m not in full panic mode…(kinda)…but the contrast is hard to ignore. Is this just how some breeders operate, or would you be concerned? Would you follow up again or just wait it out?
Deep down I know she’s not scamming me. I know she’s real and the puppy is real. But I find this so weird and frankly just rude. The photos are one thing but to not even have a tentative date at this point when flights are involved I find to be odd. I have work to plan around and flight tickets get more and more expensive every day. I mentioned that to her… no answer..
