In IL and am looking for a f1bb or f1b non shedding large standard male goldendoodle, labordoodle, saint bernardadoodle etc.
Im having a hard time finding new doodle puppy, I want a large one that's going to be 60-100 lbs, a male, and hoping to get that velcro personality. I want to come meet them 1st and am willing to drive a few hours out, but Im having so much trouble finding one that's available within a week. I want a reputable breeder bc i don't think where I got my last one is in business anymore and its proven to be nearly impossible. Anyone have the same issues or used good dog before, maybe know of any???
Food Allergy / GI issues
Really could use some help and any advice. My sweet boy, Archie will be 8 years old in December. Over the past 4-5 weeks Archie has been showing ongoing symptoms that are concerning which I addressed this past Monday with his vet for a yearly exam, bloodwork, fecal sample testing. I’ve listed his ongoing symptoms below for reference:
Vomiting at least once daily
Decreased appetite / not wanting to eat his current food
Frequent itching
Stomach gas and noticeable “churning” noises in his abdomen
Signs of nausea, including licking baseboards
More lethargic and overall not feeling well
At this point, I’m concerned he may be developing a food sensitivity or allergy, and/or possibly experiencing an underlying gastrointestinal/ digestion issue.
His blood work and fecal sample testing all came back healthy. He has been on Iams Protective Health MiniChunks with Chicken & Whole Grains for years. Given his symptoms, I’m wondering if he may be sensitive to chicken and/or grains.
The options I’m currently considering are:
Hill’s Prescription Diet z/d Skin & Food Sensitivities
Natural Balance Limited Ingredient Grain-Free Salmon & Sweet Potato
Has anyone had a similar situation or experience? I hate seeing him uncomfortable and turn down food. I feel like it has to be his food at this point. I sent an email and requested a call from his vet.
Thanks in advance!
Has anyone else's Cavapoo gotten dry, crusty patches on their skin?
I recently noticed a couple of small dry, crusty spots on my Cavapoo. They don't seem to be open wounds, and she isn't constantly scratching at them, but they definitely feel rough and flaky. I'm planning to keep an eye on them and will take her to the vet if they don't improve or if they get worse, but I was curious if anyone else has experienced this.
If so:
What did the spots end up being?
Did your vet diagnose a skin condition, allergies, hot spots, or something else?
Was there anything that helped?
I'd appreciate hearing your experiences or seeing photos if your dog's spots looked similar. Thanks!
I tried taking photos of these areas. I will try to get better pictures.
Stroller, Backpack, Carrier?
As someone who always had golden retrievers and no human children, I never thought I’d consider a stroller or carrier for a small dog.. but here we are, 😆. Husband and I are outdoorsy and take our Golden places a lot. We now have a 9 week old Cavapoo and I want to get him socialized (safely). Also thinking forwardly to neuter recovery and long trips, walking, hiking, etc. I’m trying to figure out what makes the most sense. Our GR can walk, run, and swim for hours.. I recognize our Cava is unlikely to manage the same volume. I know most hikes won’t work with a stroller, but for everything else.. what are your thoughts and recommendations?? Are they too over the top? Totally worth it? Help!
Adopted baby older than I thought
I got some devastating news today. 🥺 The previous owner said "I got a Facebook notification of a memory of peanut. This was 8 years ago."
I was under the assumption he was 5.
He isn't showing any signs of real aging. But in my mind his life just got cut short. And that was devastating. I love the little guy. He's perfect. Nothing is changing for him. I still give him ALL of the snuggles, lots of snacks, multiple walks a day and tell him he's perfect CONSTANTLY. I'm just sad that I feel like I don't have as much time with him. 🥺😭
Meet Charlie!
We adopted the 1-year-old Charlie last week. He’s a charmer. His former mom was too ill to keep him, but he’s settling in well here. Soon to the groomer, but we’ve been washing and trimming him some ourselves.
Rehomed my baby
My mother passed away the same day I got my cavopoo. The death was unexpected and I wasn’t handling it well. I then got a complaint from my landlord which triggered something and I began thinking the stress was too much. My pup developed bad seperation anxiety which was tough to deal with in my grieving state. I also didn’t want to lose my apartment in a depressive state of mind, where I was a zombie. Crying a lot. There was a family with 2 other pups huge backyard and lady worked from home. Also 2 kids. I ended up letting her go to this family. This pain has completely broken me! I miss my baby I loved her. I regret the decision and feel like I don’t even know what happened. I wasn’t in the right state of mind to make any decisions! Let alone such a big one! I feel like a horrible person!
How big will my Cavapoo get
My Cavapoo is 18 weeks and currently weighs 6.7 pounds. I was told the parents were 6 and 8 pounds and he shouldn’t grow past that but I’m guessing that might not be true. Did anyone have any pup was about the same weight at this age and if so what do they weight full grown. I don’t want him to get to big so he can travel on planes with me.
4-month-old Cavapoo mix (10 lb) — adult size estimate?
My puppy’s Wisdom Panel results are:
69% Toy & Miniature Poodle
26% Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
2% Standard Poodle
2% Chihuahua
1% Havanese
He’s currently 4 months old and weighs about 10 lb.
Based on his DNA and current growth, what do you think his adult weight and height will be?
If anyone has a similar mix, I’d love to know how big your dog ended up!
