Feeding suggestions needed

I recently adopted a handsome 5 month old little fella, he came home with us on Saturday and we are struggling with food. His previous family gave us some food (pedigree) which he didn’t eat at all. Since yesterday I switched to Purina which he isn’t eating either. Out of desperation I gave him a tiny little bit of human food - shredded chicken and he devoured it. That confirmed it’s not an eating issue, it’s just what I am feeding him issue.

Any recommendations?

Puppy vs. Adult Energy Levels

Our little guy, Winston, is 7 months old, and he's a bundle of energy! He loves to zoom, play fetch, and always wants someone to play with him. We love his energy, but we're curious if he'll mellow out a bit when he becomes an adult.

Would love to know if your Cavapoos' personalities and energy remained the same from puppyhood or if you notices any changes. Thanks!

Reverse F1b Cavapoo mom x mini poodle dad - which breed does she lean more towards?

She only has curls on her ears, no teddy bear face. I see more Cavalier in her, but her snout looks like poodle. What do y’all think?

Paperwork??

I’m looking for Cavapoos right now and I love this one. She’s so cute but they don’t have OFA on the dad who is the caviler. Should I skip this dog? I worry about the heart she is saying they get check ups but I’m not sure that’s good enough what do yall think? They did genetic health testing I seen those.

Is this a toy cavapoo?

These cuties are just 3.5 months old and I wonder what they will look like as adults.

My sweet boy

This is my mini Cavapoo! He is turning 4 in October and is on the smaller side at 12lbs. He is absolutely a Velcro dog and needs a ton of attention and a surprising amount of exercise for such a small guy. He actually makes a good running buddy! He is constantly asking to play fetch too. I love traveling with him because he’s quite portable and always makes friends with strangers along the way. Last pic is adoption day when he was 2 months old. God I love him.

My Cavapoo Is BIG! 🤯

The breeder told us his mom is a 12lb Moyen Poodle and that his dad is a 16lb King Charles Cavalier Spaniel. She told us he’d be between 12 and 14lbs full grown. He is almost 16 months old and weighs just a few ounces shy of 25lbs! 🤯

Cavapoo GI Issues

Hey all,

Forgive the long post be want to be as detailed as possible.

Got this baby about 7 months ago - Zoey. She’s been eating Royal Canin and the fancy stuff in the refrigerated section. Until about 4 weeks ago. She started having mucous-y really lose stool with some vomiting. Some of the stool had blood in it. Took her to the vet and they did all kinds of tests and said everything is fine. Told us to do a strict chicken and rice diet. That helped for a few days then introduced her old dry food. Took her back and they told us to change her diet to Royal Canin GI special blend and gave us a pro biotic and anti nausea medicine. That helped for about 3 days, then started again. Vet gave her more probiotic and she was good for about a week. Her stool has not been “firm” since. It forms but its still soft.

She threw up again twice over the weekend and is starting to get very loose stools again. She is currently back on the probiotic.

As far as demeanor - she’s great! Acts completely normal running around and playing with the kids.

Vet seems clueless. Wondering if anyone has guidance to help my little angel.

Skin bumps

Anyone else’s cavapoo develop random skin bumps? I have had a vet check the bumps appearing on my dog’s body, some on his back and one or two on his belly. They said that these were normal for cavapoos, considering that they are mix of 2 breeds, one that sheds and one that doesn’t. The vet thinks these are not dangerous and they are possibly lipomas or ingrown hairs and that there is nothing to do about them. Just curious about your dogs.

How to spread the love?

My cavapoo (9 months old) has decided that I'm their person. It's pretty simple as to why--I work from home so I'm always around, I play with him the most, walk him the most, and in general take care of him the most.

But, everyone else in the family loves him, or wants to. But I'm the person he clings to, which causes frustration and hurt feelings, esp. with the kids.

What's the best way to gently ease the pup away from his fixation on me and share some of the love and attention with others in the family? I've already been making the eldest take him on more walks as well as being the source of most treats. Any other good hacks?

Stool Confusion

Hey, sorry if this seems like a strange question, I just wanted to see if anyone else was experiencing this with their cavapoo.

Our boy has normal forming stool when he goes regularly, he is on Iams Proactive Health Minichunks - Chicken and rice. Which, if that's too high of a fat content, please let me know.

The strange thing is, when his dad takes him on long walks, his body seems to take that as a signal to expel everything, and he'll go poop like 3 times, having pretty much diarrhea at the end. Then the next day, it'll correct itself and form normally again. Not sure why, it doesn't happen on days that he doesn't go for long walks. Anyone else's cavapoo have that weird bowel movement when they go on long walks?

Cavapoo refuses to eat – but loves treats

I have a Cavapoo named Ludvig who is almost 1.5 years old. He weighs around 8.5 kg, and he doesn’t really want to eat. We have taken him to the vet, where we have also mentioned our concerns about his appetite. However, the vet is not concerned.

We have tried all kinds of different dog food. It is almost a certainty that he won’t eat his food in the morning. His appetite usually gets a little better during the day and in the evening.

We can often get him to eat his food if we add a quarter of an egg, but most of the time, it is still a struggle to get him started.

On the other hand, he is more than happy to eat his treats. We have tried stopping the treats for a period of time, but we don’t feel that it has made any significant difference.

So, I’m curious if anyone has any good advice or has experienced something similar?
