Arduino UNO microcontroller!
I built the classic, Italian made, arduino uno microcontroller down to the individual components.
Even pokemon is aware of the crisis at hand… disgusting.
I posted this recently, but I need some advice.
Main problem:
I have decided to build another car model, which I will have to use metal colors again. I really like the color I chose for the Porsche, but the metal color is very “grainy,” as in you can see the shiny particles if you aren’t looking from far away. You can pretty clearly see it in the photo all on the hood and roof. This problem can be found on all parts of the car that are silver. I am looking for advice on how to clean this up, and smooth the shiny look of the paint. I will be using a metallic blue for my next vehicle, and the model is very special to me so I am looking to improve my technique. Furthermore, I have looked up YouTube tutorials, but I haven’t gotten any help from them. YouTube recommends basic airbrushing tutorials which don’t help with my specific problem.
TLDR:
I am looking for advice on how to smooth the shiny color of metal paints. The silver paint on the Porsche has obvious silver flakes from the paint. How can I smooth this.
Information:
- Tamiya chrome silver x-11
- paint was airbrushed on (not sure the PSI)
- thinned with water at roughly 1:1
- no primer, the plastic was white
(I generally have good adhesion with tamiya paint)
Extra fluff (update from my last post):
I attempted to sand down the smudge on the windshield then apply floor polish, but I snapped the piece by accident. As a result, I bought a new windshield piece which I will paint and add to the car once I’m back from a trip.
Also, the next vehicle I’m making is my grandpas first car, the 1949 ford coupe stock model. His birthday is coming up, so I would really like to get the paint right if I am able to.
First car as an armor modeler! Very pleased with how it went.
My only problem is that I smudged the windshield with tamiya glue, but other than I am very proud of myself work. Everything was going so well until I had to glue the mirror to the windshield. The only glue I had at the time was Tamiya extra thin, which unfortunately was not a good idea. I have learned from my mistake though and I went and bought more CA glue so it won’t happen again. I should say, I did in fact attempt to fix the smudge by sanding the windshield, which worked a little bit, but I don’t own any buff or polish to fully fix it. Oh well 🤷♂️
