Fun Live Auction League Rules?

We have created a 12-team auction draft league with a live in-person auction. The league is composed of casual football lovers, wives of some of our league members, and diehard fantasy players. Given the mix of player-types, we are trying to make this appealing to everyone and doing fun/different things during the draft and in the league. For example, we plan on doing punters instead of kickers so that the league brings something a little different to casuals and diehards alike.

We have considered other rules like scoring offensive player tackles, but we decided against auto-win rules like that for the time being. Obviously IDP is out of the question, and we would prefer to do something different from defenses.

We also floated the idea of using auction money to bid on punishments, but we figured casuals will not be into that, given that this is roughly half the league's first ever auction draft.

I'm sure this question gets asked multiple times a year on this sub, but what fun things does your league(s) do that make it appealing to everyone?

First Playthrough on Reach Campaign... WTF

Some backstory as to why I only just played through the OG franchise: Halo 3 has always comfortably been in my top 5 games of all time. ODST and its firefight mode are also up there. I also played Reach multiplayer religiously when it came out and was a forge fanatic. Probably thousands of hours after school between 3, ODST, and Reach. Halo Wars is also a game I have always adored.

As for Reach's campaign, I just assumed that since I had played so much Reach, I had also played through the Reach campaign. Nothing about the Reach campaign ever stuck out to me as memorable compared to how I felt about the campaigns of 3 and ODST, so I just assumed Reach's campaign was grossly overrated. I've held a very firm stance on that for years.

Recently, I became re-engaged with Halo after a 2-year break from Infinite multiplayer and an over 10-year break from any of the originals. During prep for the bar exam, I listened to the Halo soundtrack pretty much exclusively, and have continued doing so at work. Also, the lore in particular has piqued my interest, as I have a much better capacity to appreciate the lore now that my brain has (arguably) fully developed.

I played Halo Wars again about a month ago and loved the lore aspect, so I decided to commit to a legendary campaign run of the franchise, since Halo Wars was a great warm up to the lore. I consulted this sub on how to tackle this, and everyone told me to play everything in release order and not chronologically, which I did.

After playing through the trilogy for the first time ever, I posted on this sub about how in awe I was that I had gone my entire life loving Halo but not ever giving CE or 2 a chance, and how the trilogy was an absolute masterpiece.

I then beat ODST about a week or two ago (stellar) and took a short break. Then I started up Reach, expecting the same bland feeling I had originally felt ~15 years ago when I first "played" through the campaign.

What an ignorant moron I was.

I finished the legendary campaign about 15 minutes ago. In those last 15 minutes, I've just been sitting here soaking in what just happened.

What an absolutely incredible campaign. The visuals. The gameplay. The writing. The story.

Holy shit. I'm floored.

Also, special thank you to everyone in this sub who told me to play the games in release order. I very much appreciated the advancements in gameplay and graphics through each game, and Reach was just an absolutely perfect cherry on top that I almost certainly would have missed and not appreciated, especially with the tie ins to each game (including ODST, which shocked and delighted me)... >!that all ultimately culminated in Cortana?!?! !<Wow, dude. What an experience. Wow.

ID attorney, only been in practice for about 8 months. One of my first cases assigned to me was a construction defect case on a massive home renovation/addition. Our insured is the GC on the project. Just looking for others to share their experiences and how they navigated/overcame. TLDR at end.

PL is a seasoned attorney, sued the GC on a personal project, and PL is now pro se on the case. GC was represented by another defense firm, which filed a countersuit against PL for breach of contract. Our firm was then added as co-counsel.

Depo of GC was taken by PL months ago, lasted 7 hours, and was continued. Depo went pretty badly, GC did not do well and fell for intimidation tactics we prepped him not to fall for.

We had the GC review and sign a sworn affidavit in support of our response to a motion. PL eventually withdrew the motion.

Continuation of GC's depo happened the other day. We prepped GC to not give into PL's intimidation tactics, including threats of perjury. Depo lasted another 7 hours. GC completely folded. 7 hours of agony. GC essentially recanted all facts that were the basis for our defenses and counterclaim, admitted that GC did not read the affidavit before swearing to it (we spoke with him several times about the affidavit and sent it to him for approval before filing it), agreed with PL that nearly the entire affidavit was inaccurate or untrue (after multiple threats of perjury).

PL is now moving for sanctions against myself and co-counsel for essentially filing frivolous claims, fraud, misrepresentation, and whatever other bad lawyer words you can think of. Obviously, there was no intentional fraud or bad faith - all information was based on conversations with the GC. Frankly, I still believe what we alleged is true, but that the GC only agreed with the PL because the GC was intimidated and overwhelmed during the depo.

My supervising attorney is out of state in trial, so I have been mostly consumed by my own thoughts and have been spiraling for days, since there seemingly is a world where I do get sanctioned. I know this is not the first time something like this has ever happened to an attorney... right? I know this is not a career death sentence... right?

TLDR: insured GC recanted our entire case (including all defenses and facts relating to counterclaim) during depo, including a sworn affidavit which he admitted he didn't read before signing it, and a motion for sanctions followed.
