SOS Butterwort! What am I doing wrong??

(Slide 1 is ~24hrs after repotting, slide 2 is immediately after repotting)

Got this butterwort yesterday, and it was in DISGUSTING rotting peat moss. So, I cleaned the roots very well and thoroughly, and basically had to temporarily water board this poor baby to get the rotten soil off of it.

I ended up putting it in my usual carnivorous soil (spaghnum moss and perlite 1:1) and have been spraying it with distilled water every now and then to help the dew come back from being rinsed off during repot.

Less than 24 hours later, I check on it and it looks shrivelled and sad. I know it probably is experiencing some sort of shock, but how can I help it survive this?? I moved it from my sunny window with direct sunlight to indirect. Do I keep misting it or let it dry out??

Please help!

Can I feed these demon creatures to my VFT?

I’m worried that it’ll poison my plants. Anyone have experience doing this??

MY VFT CAUGHT THE FLY THAT WAS STUCK IN MY ROOM

I had a HUGE annoying fly stuck in my window the other day, and eventually I stopped hearing it and seeing it and assumed it died somewhere on the windowsill.

Well, I also noticed that my VFT was closed and looked like it was eating something? I figured it was maybe triggered by a gnat somehow and brushed it off.

I went to go feed it today, which was a success. Then I started thinking, “what if that trap actually has food in it?” so I shined my flashlight through it, and low and behold, A FLY!!

I let out an evil laugh when I realized. IT DID THE THING!!

You wouldn’t download a Succulent… You’d pick them off the ground!

My collection of prop lifted succulents (all of which I found either on the ground or in the pot holders).

Got this Baby Toe Succulent cause it reminded me of the Eyeball Lichen from the Labryinth

I didn’t even know the name until the day after, turns out it’s even more fitting 🥹

The resemblance is truly uncanny, and the actual name of the plant is so fitting for the theme 😩

Feels Weird getting my Indoor Tomato Plants off…

Yes that is an electric toothbrush. I’ve had trouble self-pollinating my indoor tomatoes in the past, and saw a tip online where someone used the back of an electric toothbrush to mimic the buzzing of a bug helping to move the pollen around. Feels wrong…

Tried to save a Honeybee and she still died:(

I went on a walk late at night and found a honeybee slowly struggling on the sidewalk, so I walked back home and grabbed sugar water, and in less than 5 minutes she was in worse shape than when I had left her. I tried to give her some sugar water and held her up while she was struggling for about 10 minutes and eventually she still passed 🙁 I picked her body up with a leaf and found some hydrangea flowers to rest her on. Honestly I teared up on the walk home.

I also just found out that my mixture was too diluted compared to what the recommended mix should be. I’m worried maybe I could’ve saved her if I made the water right. I don’t know :(

I feel absolutely REPULSED by all food before Ovulating.

I haven’t eaten basically all day today because the thought of food just makes me sooo nauseous and grossed out. I just forced myself to eat 2 slices of cheddar cheese (which are normally one of my favourite high protein snacks), and I was GAGGING. I swear I could taste the aging process. And not to mention earlier I ate a warm concha (my favourite) and basically forced it down and really did not enjoy it.

Also my mouth tastes sweet for no reason??

Is this hormone-related or am I going crazy??

I like Dandelions, so now I’m growing one.

I’ve just started getting into growing my own plants, but I’m used to foraging. I’ve always liked dandelions and since I now have more knowledge on growing plants myself, I snatched this guy from outside and managed to keep his taproot intact.

I love dandelions. This guy is gonna live the best life imaginable for his kind.

Freak of a Plant I Bought to try to Save.

Honestly this is one of the grossest, and ugliest plants I’ve ever seen. But, it really looked like an alien tentacle monster or something out of a Junji Ito book so I had to buy it. Plus it was 50% off (should’ve been free if you ask me..) It was in such bad shape even the lady selling the plants couldn’t recognize what it was at first, but it turns out it’s a pilea spruceana and NOT an alien.

Anyways… Stay tuned?.. Gulp

My First Carnivorous Plant!

Snatched this dude (who’ve I’ve since named Audrey,) from Martin’s plant section for $7 and was SO happy as I’ve always wanted a carnivorous plant.

I repotted him into a 50/50 mix of perlite and whole spaghnum moss with distilled water. I probably should’ve gotten peat moss but I didn’t know that until after repotting.

I’ve fed him once and it was super cool! However, I used a medium sized fire-ant and I think it may have been too acidic for it, and it formed a spot on the trap so I’m pretty sure that part is gonna turn black. But you live and you learn!

I was so excited about this one, I ordered a little sundew plant which should be coming in next week!

PLEASE tell me these aren't bedbugs.

One was found crawling on my ear, the other was found crawling on my pillow where my ear would’ve been. My first thought was seed ticks, as I had been walking around in the grass earlier but it was weird to not find more. I was able to kill them by crushing them inbetween my fingers. I also believe the abdomens are too big to be lice nymphs.

Please. Please don’t be bed bugs.

I apologize I couldn’t get a better image, they were THAT small.

UPDATE: Turns out they’re BIRD mites. They’re coming in from my window by my bed, and there’s a lot. Makes sense cause there is a bird nest right abov. So I guess if your camera can’t even pick it up, it’s probably not a bed bug.
