The only thing I can say is god damn.

I was originally going for a tankerpro in cypress #8. Still very much a flair boot but perhaps a bit more subtle. Mid-way through my lead I was revisiting the customization on these, likely out of impatience. It was then when I found out that DS Rasp was back on the menu for a limited time. Knew I had to make the swap since I am infatuated with my other W&C tan latigo boots.

Judging by other posts, seems like it’s finally a time to give a check-in on the Blood Brothers drop that happened in May. I have worn these about 80% of the time since then. Wasn’t particularly frightened about trying to avoid frequent washes since I wore them through the summer and they are 21oz and started dark black.

Atleast in their current stage where there is still a chunk of pink protruding rather than a heavier red, it is a bit challenging to capture the full contrast without manipulating the lighting in unrealistic ways.

I absolutely love these though and they are by far my favorite pair of denim I own right now even more than any of my higher end pieces like IH. The fit is incredible on them, unlike any pair of pants I have owned before. The fabric itself is extremely comfortable too.

I definitely had some hardships breaking these in; the notoriously tight pockets on N&F pants remain true and it was actually quite brutal to get them to open up even a little bit. Moreso on the pain side as well, there is a line of inner stitching around the top opening that absolutely kicked my ass for a while. Some days it wasn’t even there, but some days it was in full force sawing my waist asunder. Even after stuffing my shirt, outer layer or whatever I could find inbetween my skin and that stitching it was pretty heinous. It’s long since been worn in and I don’t even know if this is a universal experience for others with this pair, but that was my one large challenge with them. An actual universal experience everyone who bought this can likely agree on is that managing the button zip on arrival was a herculean task.

Love this pair and how they’re turning out though. My SO calls them my “Deriod jeans” as in dude-period. I think they live up to the name.

Just got these in the mail this morning. Wanted a more casual boot for the warmer parts of the year, was super interested to see how they’d go with my IH Wabash. Turned out pretty stellar, might need to find even longer laces to be able to do a wrap-around and still clear the top hook.
