Hi, I am currently in the process of deciding where to study nursing between QUT or at Griffith university. Can anyone give me unfiltered opinion and personal experience on whats it like studying at Griffith and also living in Gold Coast as an international student?
many thanks!!

i am in need of small advice atm. I recently graduated from an English taught School and did the full IB. Additionally, although my final results are not out yet my predicted grades were well above the requirements for UQ nursing, where I also took HL Lang and lit. unfortunately I keep flunking my IELETS writing and have not been able to meet the required 7.0, despite getting 8.0 for the rest. According to the agent I am applying through, I heard that u can get accepted as long as you meet the IB and IELETS requirement.
I was wondering if they are some cases where u can still get accepted despite not meeting the English proficiency requirement, considering if u studied at an English taught school for more than 10 years. and whether it is still worth applying or I should give up entirely on UQ.
I have recently graduated high school and looking to apply to universities in Australia to study nursing, after I get my results. As an international student, Ik that the fees are VERY high and I am also taking that into account when looking at my options. I have three older siblings and us, children went to an internantional school all our lives, where my parents income went all towards our education and I am deeply grateful for that opportunity that my parents gave me. My grades were not high enough to apply for scholarships so that was out of the question but since the begining i had told my parents I would get a student loan if money is tight and i am willing to get that. I would't go as far as a problem but here is where the conflict of intrest in uni options comes between me and my dad especially. I grew up in a country that is a very low income country, tho I was fortunate enough for the education I received the country is bare, where it has NOTHING. literlly no form of entertainment that students will enjoy, and a small part of me wants to experienced what I missed when moving to Australia. My dad wants me to go to Tasmania, which is a small island away from main land, which I here is a good place but is highly isolated from the rest. And the reason why he wants me to go there is bc its easier to get a PRP. And, I agree, in the long run it is highly practical but for me I felt like my decision was pre-made for me even before I apply to other universities. For me its a bit frustrating bc I was working towards getting the required amount of points to meet the entery requirement for my dream university and now my dad's pretty much decided that I have to go there. and for me its like whats the point of even applying or trying for others university if where i would end up is already decided for me.
Also, when it was my sister's time, she got full agency on where she wanted to go without the input of PRP, and for me that's also frustrating.
I don't know what to say or do. I feel like whenever this regarding where im gonna go, it borderline angers me that I dont rly have a say in where i go.
so what should I do or approach without choking up or getting angry?
