Has anyone mentioned how new Carrie's Mom looks like the original Carrie?

Samantha Sloyan, aka Tamerlane Usher + Leigh Crain (Hill House) + the Bev bitch herself (Midnight Mass) + many more. I love her and can't wait to see more of her in Carrie. 💗

Hill House and House of Usher are such different extremes, and yet both my favorites

Yes, both are horror shows and has mysteries on death and ghosts and whatnot. But the way Flanagan delivered both stories are so different and yet I love them both almost just as much.

Hill House is definitely my #1 still but that might be because it was my first Flanagan work, and my first horror series to ever watch. It was definitely scary af but the hook is it had so much heart. I still cry watching it. Every episode. And the Dudley scene at the end makes me bawl my eyes out, every single time.

Usher however is another end of extreme. It's intentionally over the top so it's always gonna be a hit or miss for many. So I recommend it less than Hill House to the general viewers BUT FOR ME?!?!?

Easily my #2 Falanagan series, with Midnight Mass for 3rd (it's shorter and less daring in comparison). I just like when things are over the top but still has weight.

The Edgar Allan Poe references, the comical absurdity, the commentary on the rich, the "who dies?" turning into a "how do they die?", the curring talented cast and Carla Gugino playing a devil/death/consequence entity??? Chef's kiss for me.

It's so different from Hill House which is full on heavy emotions. In contrast to the Dudley scene... This one ends with me feeling almost no sympathy, just a "too bad, you could have had this life but you chose this" cause that is how it should be for nasty people in power. Fck them. Haha

Point is... Flanagan and the other writers and directors he works woth is a masterclass example of doing horror justice. It's not one note. It has depth.

AND I CANNOT WAIT FOR CARRIE!!!

Looking back to S1E1, these 2 really had a little switcheroo

Helaena called out Rhaenyra's fake empathy and calls her desires to be ugly. Specifically the throne/kingdom.

Yet back in episode 1, young Rhaenyra wanted to just leave on her dragon and eat cake with her friend 🥲

And the fact she tells Allicent these lines of all people, the one who called Rhaenyra's desires as a jest, but now she herself wishes to leave Westeros to live a simple life with Helaena. Ugh 💔💔💔
