Perspective
I recently acquired one of my dream pieces. Speedy, naturally patina’d tritium. It’s the watch I’ve always wanted - I love the history, the intricacy, and how personal a manual watch can feel.
I had a watch shop by me replace its crystal, and evidently in the process, the chrono was affected and stopped working.
I was upset. Nearly angry. How could a watchmaker be so dumb?
Therein lies the lesson that I want to remember when I wear this thing.
I’m lucky to have this type of problem. I’m grateful for it actually. How lucky am I to complain about my damaged watch?
I’m sitting in Savannah GA with this dream watch on my wrist, albeit broken at the moment.
How lucky am I to be healthy? How lucky am I to have a job that’s allowed me to travel? How lucky anm I to have been able to walk today. To wake up?
How lucky am I?
