Explored Michigan’s UP for a few days recently.

Shot RAW and processed using the Archetype Process Profiles. Specifically Kodak Portra 400 - Frontier.

Also, made a video about the trip on my YouTube channel if you’re interested!

Looking for Beta Testers for My Fuji Recipe App

Hi everyone,

I've developed an app for Fujifilm cameras (iOS and Android) and I'm looking for more testers to try it out before the official release. Please write me a message and include your Email and what kind of phone do you have (iphone or android). I will include you to the test group.

At the moment, it only supports the X100VI, as that's the only model I currently own and can test with. Additional camera models will be added over time as I gain access to and can verify compatibility with real devices.

Features

  • Read, edit, and save Film Recipes directly from the camera
  • Full Bluetooth communication (no cables required)
  • Publish and share your own recipes with other users
  • Improved media library with faster image browsing and a download manager
  • Direct video playback within the app
  • Designed as a modern alternative and eventual replacement for the Fujifilm xApp

The app has been performing very well in my own testing so far. Before releasing it publicly, I'd love to get feedback from real users to help identify any remaining issues and improve the overall experience.

If you own an X100VI and would be interested in testing the app, feel free to send me a private message.

Thanks!

What’s your photo-taking process?

It feels like a lot of pictures posted here are “point and shoot” i.e a quick moment that you saw, pointed the camera at and took a photo.

I’m realising there is a lot more to great photos than that. So what do you do in terms of selecting mode, focus, aperture, shutter speed etc before taking a photo?

I’m trying to increase the quality of my own images and just having the camera with me is not necessarily doing it.

Proud of this one

From almost 2 years ago but somehow I only edited it last week - Smerczyński Staw in Tatra Mountains in Poland

This camera has brought me so much joy!

Purchased this camera right before leaving on our honeymoon and I’ve had so much fun shooting with it. I never hesitated to bring it out with me and I enjoyed the process of looking for things to capture so much more than trying to get a specific result.

Hoping to improve composition as I get more comfortable with the fixed lens, and to get better at shooting in different types of light.

Absolutely blown away by this this camera!

Coming from a 5D Mark iii, the low light clarity on this camera is insane. Just used it for the first time this past weekend at carweek. Non edited for example purposes, so its a tad on the dark side. But I just love how great the photos come out from this camera. I have it set to one of the preset settings you can choose from but thats about it.

Ireland trip recipes

Hi all,

I was fortunate enough to get my hands on an x100vi, for a trip to Ireland in autumn, leaving in a month. I’m a completely overwhelmed by all of the recipes, and have horrific decision paralysis. I don’t want to mess up the photos for a once in a lifetime trip. I’m wondering if anyone has some good suggestions? I see lots of “summer” ones, and I don’t think they’ll fit the Ireland vibe.

Appreciate it :)

Instagram aspect ratio

Anybody here who posts their shots on instagram? Do you crop your image or resize it to fit it? Do you put white/black borders to fit in? I’ve been confused for a while now and I don’t know how people post such detailed pictures on instagram

Found in the wild

Scored my 2nd x100vi today! I’m on an Alaskan Cruise and decided to stop in the duty free camera store. Lo and behold there she was. I sold my first x100vi last year and have been missing it!

New x100vi, these are my favorite photos…

Beginner here! Took over 600 pictures on my new camera on a week long camping trip; these are some of my favorites! Watched so many videos on exposure triangle, composition, and best settings to prepare myself. I wanted to be sure that I would take good photos and it’s safe to say that I absolutely love this camera. I couldn’t stop taking photos and the camera captured things the way I saw them which is why I wanted a Fuji film camera rather than just using my iPhone. This camera is amazing! Feedback is appreciated and if curious I used a 1/4 black diffusion filter and almost all photos are the Summer Chrome recipe. All are SOOC.

What functions have you assigned to f1/f2 buttons?

If any at all, I’m interested what functions you have assigned to the two buttons to make your shooting workflow easier.

Thoughts on this sling bag

I’m looking for a sling bag to just carry my X100VI and probably some sunglasses and power bank while traveling.

What are your thoughts on these sling bags. Has anyone tried either of them?

JPEG Only?

I see some people saying things like, “I only shoot in RAW.” Isn’t that defeating the purpose of this camera?

I love my X100vi and I only have an old MacBook Pro with no desire to upgrade and rent editing software. I’m just a hobbyist who enjoys making photos but hates hours of endless editing.

Anyway, I quickly grabbed this shot from my front porch and cropped it to square on my iPhone, which is something I don’t mind doing, but that’s about it. Slight tweaks that I can quickly make on a mobile device before sharing with family and friends is my current level of involvement after the shot.

I’m just curious if other hobbyists feel the same OR if you have better suggestions than buying a new computer and expensive software for editing that you actually enjoy doing.
