If we had a basic cape that is similar to the 100 absolute black cape but still really good and generally applicable it would make the current black cape feel less essential as there is a similar alternative, so you wouldn’t feel like you had to grind 500 missions just to get a nice cape.

This would make the current black cape more fitting for an ultra grind cosmetic, as it’s good to have something unique for those that can complete the challenges, but there should be alternatives which are almost as good so people who can’t complete it don’t feel left out.

Personally I feel the 100 absolute missions should be reduced or reworked somehow (someone suggested it being for terminus deaths instead which is smart) but I still feel a more common, less blinged out alternative would really help it feel less essential and like you need to get the black cape.

We already have a red cape but I don’t think it’s quite as widely applicable as it’s a very vibrant and glossy texture, I would mostly be using it for stuff like blood angels and not much else.

My best guesses are:

Sniper - blood ravens or maybe lamenters

Vanguard - flesh tearers

Techmarine - space wolves wolf priest

There's little point in speculating at this stage, but this reveal is so interesting, do you think we'll be able to equip multiple at the same time?

At the very least l'd hope iron halos and capes don't take up the same slot. Maybe iron halos will be in the backpack slot instead of the wargear slot?

This might be a pipe dream because of clipping but it would be perfect in my eyes if we could equip capes and loin cloths at the same time, I mean we've already seen it with the assault raven guard champion that has the feather cloak + loin cloth.

Also would bulwark tabards fit on heavy's gravis armour? Maybe they'll just add a generic loin cloth that is affected by cloth colour to work on heavy.

What about the restrictions they eluded to? No iron halos on sniper is fine, but I'm curious what other restrictions there could be for "lore accuracy", like an iron halo wouldn't fit on techmarine, but surely it's lore accurate for all classes to wear a loin cloth.

This is probably going to be my favourite update for the game yet, but l'm not counting on there being multiple wargear slots for each class

Personally I think a cosmetic pack would give more mileage, we could get their unique markings, and maybe even helmet patterns for the chevrons. A shoulder cape for all classes would make it perfect.
