Please keep this about just emelia and Subaru..I know more characters have a similar case and especially rem does. This post is about emelia and Subaru. Keep it at that.

Whenever any other character is mentioned, my mind immediately goes to what I think of them specifically (except for a few cases) but whenever the topic is emelia, my mind just leads to Subaru. Every single time.

I thought about it and I don't think I can name a single character in re:zero that would, when asked about emelia, focus on her and not think about Subaru, except maybe felt and pandora? (Don't know enough about her to say but there's definitely some connection there).

Sure, there are other characters like rem who are overshadowed by him because of how many things they did with Subaru but they still feel like their own character, whereas emelia without Subaru just feels incomplete to me.

There are still character with a similar situation but none of them are as major as emelia is. Maybe this feels so wierd to me because of how much the fandom hypes up emelia. I'm not saying she has bad writing or anything but this just feels wrong? I remember hearing that emelia was the reason for this story to even be made and the first character.

Question: how do you think the main characters would answer when asked about emelia and how fast would the conversation come to Subaru?

I want something that helps me disconnect from reality for a second and be able not think about anything else for some time. This is one of the anime that I was so into, I didn't think of anything else while watching it. Are there any anime that made you obsessed with them? Or any you consider to be on the same level as dress up darling? I can only think of a few good ones but I've already seen them. Oh, and I specifically mean the romance genre, it's my favourite at the moment.

The whole thing with Subaru losing his memories and now being illiterate plus the if posts about what would happen if Subaru was a companion of a different candidate got me thinking this

I think Felt might have have been illiterate at the start of story or knew barely enough to get by.

Meili was "raised by the wolves" and I don't imagine elsa or capella really cared about her being able to read, don't know if petra taught her later on tho.

Garfiel is illiterate, at least before the time skip between season 2 and 3 where fredrika might have taught him but I don't think he'd be a good student.

Edit: It has come to my attention that Garfiel can, if fact read, my whole life was a lie. Don't call me out on it please, I want to hear about what characters you think are illiterate.

Emelia (Re:zero) vs. shirou emiya (fate series)

I keep hearing this "happy birthday Danial" clip which I'm pretty sure is AI text to speech. Is this just another meme with no meaning or is there some lore? I'm anime only btw.
