Any tips for the challenger's cup?

The challenger's cup is on October 22nd for me and I am worried cause I am getting spanked in the online sim. If I do go on a winning streak the only deck I can get a streak with so far is Yamada Red/Blue. I think it may be me playing badly, but when I go on YouTube and search online or consult with the machine spirit I dont seem to be improving. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. So far only 7 entrants in my local, but I really want that Lovander card.

Cut my 6x6 flush with my 2 ply beam

I cut my 6x6 post flush with my header and getting the header off would be a monumental task. Is there some kind of hardware I can attach to my post so I can attach my trusses to the header/post?
