What factions do you consider the most dangerous and the ones that require the most attention?

The title says it all. This is for you to share which factions you think should never be neglected under any circumstances. I know many of you will say the Vagabond, but rather than stating the obvious, I’d also like to talk about the others. And here’s a question that was raised on BGG: do you think militant factions need to be watched more closely than insurgent ones?

Is it just me, or is there a lot of elitism on BGG?

I’ve been a member of BGG for quite a while now, though I usually log in to ask about rules or read reviews. Lately, I’ve gotten the impression that, in some subforums, certain veteran users can be pretty condescending.

I’ve seen responses to normal questions where they basically tell people, “You think that because you’re new,” or “You’re playing it wrong.” There are also plenty of cases where someone asks a specific question, and instead of answering, people focus only on correcting superficial details that don’t add anything, without actually answering the question itself.

I’m not saying the whole community is like that—not by a long shot—but I get the impression it happens more often than it should in some games that are especially “complex” or competitive.

Has this happened to you too, or do you think it’s just my perception?

EDIT:

It doesn't bother me when people correct actual mistakes or clear up misunderstandings about the rules. That's a normal part of any community. What does catch my attention, however, are things like the following:

- Responses where the intention seems less about helping or discussing and more about establishing hierarchies within the conversation.

- Situations where someone asks a specific question and only receives corrections that don’t even address the point of their question.

- Debates where, as soon as someone mentions that they play differently, prioritize other strategies, or simply enjoy the game from a different perspective, the response quickly becomes: “it’s because you’re new,” “you’re playing it wrong,” or outright “that game isn’t for you.”

And in the end, the feeling it leaves you with isn’t that of talking about games, but rather that of having to constantly prove that you play “the right way” for your opinion to be taken seriously.
