Oliver Tree - Cowboy Tears (yellow vinyl) - $26.73 +$3.99 unlimited shipping

>"This body of work sees Oliver carefully crafting a "cowboy emo" aesthetic unlike anything you've seen or heard. Oliver decided to craft an album that was more focused and draws equally from the genres of alternative, pop and country, taking sonic inspiration from everyone from Sugar Ray to R.E.M. From the album's opener and first single "Cowboys Don't Cry" to the acoustic-based anthem "Freaks & Geeks" to the electronica-inspired experimentation of "Things We Used To Do," Cowboy Tears is social commentary disguised as saccharine pop-and what's most impressive is the way the album succeeds on both counts. "I think one of my biggest strengths as an artist is the fact that I'm able to step back and see where there are holes in the pop-culture matrix," Oliver explains when asked about his overall vision for Cowboy Tears."

Reddit REALLY hates it when I link to The Room Returns (Bob Odenkirk) rental page. Here's where you can watch it.

https://www.facebook.com/professorbrando/

For those of you who missed it, I've made a couple posts here trying to let people know that they can digitally rent the new remake.

But for some reason, Reddit removed hyperlinks to the site, wouldn't let me spell it out to avoid hyperlinks, and even refused to let me PM it to other users. Very strange. Reddit ended up completely removing both posts I made about it too.

The link above is the director's FB, and he posted the link there. It's $7.99 with all proceeds going to charity.

I just finished watching it, and I think you are all going to love it. My favorite scene is Johnny refusing to come out of the bathroom :)

Why does it sound like the album "Around The World In A Day" doesn't have bass?

"Around The World In A Day" was my introduction to Prince many years ago, and I've listened to it countless times over the years. "Pop Life" in particular is one of my all-time favorite 80's songs.

But no matter the format (vinyl, CD, cassette, or streaming), it's always noticeably lacked bass & low end. I recently read that Prince & Mark Brown both played bass on the record, so I know there SHOULD be bass in the mix, but the recording is so incredibly tinny & high pitched that it's hard to even make out the lows.

I'm aware of the method he used for "When Doves Cry" - removing the bass altogether in the final mix - and I'm wondering if he did something similar with "Around The World In A Day"? Is the sound just a byproduct of how it was mixed, or was it just recorded without any low end? Does the new deluxe release shine any light on this?

I'm sorry if this is a common question in r/Prince, but I couldn't really find an answer with google. Thanks in advance for schooling me!

> Any doubts about the incongruity of jazz icon Herbie Hancock covering singer-songwriter extraordinare Joni Mitchell will be obliterated on the first journey through RIVER: THE JONI LETTERS.

>For starters, the premise is not especially incongruous. Hancock has had a long, adventurous career in which he's traversed genres and masterfully blended styles, while Mitchell has always been deeply influenced by jazz as both a composer and a singer. RIVER features many of Mitchell's finest songs, stunning in their own right and reinterpreted beautifully by Hancock, plus a stellar assortment of musicians and guest vocalists.

>Mitchell's pop and folk tendencies have been assimilated into the arrangements; the album plays like a vocal jazz outing. Hancock is joined by fellow Miles Davis alums Wayne Shorter and Dave Holland, among others, and the guest vocalists include Norah Jones, Tina Turner, Corinne Bailey Rae, Leonard Cohen, and--on one track--Mitchell herself. Sophisticated, soulful, and gorgeous, RIVER is a must for fans of Mitchell, classic jazz, adult contemporary artists like Norah Jones--and, well, just about everyone.

What role (if any) has COO Matthew McNeff played in BAM's crimes?

Ammon, Joshua, and Brandon are the three names we constantly read about, and perhaps for good reason, but the one guy who has seemingly escaped all scrutiny in this case is Matthew McNeff, the COO of BAM, and Ammon's brother.

As the COO, by definition he would be in charge of the daily operations within the company, and oversee growth/expansion strategies. Given that BAM's business model seems to be predatory in nature, he has to be aware - if not the strategist behind - seizing stores and inventory from franchisees... yet he has somehow remained largely unscathed throughout the Reckless Ben saga. Coffeezilla's brief interview caught him in a lie, but those seem to be his only public statements or appearances in regards to the company he helps run.

Has a clearer picture emerged in his role in all of this through document discoveries or further interviews?

I understand if you want to keep it simple and stick with text, but comment images could really ratchet up the lulz in this sub.

Ammon is trying to claim that some sets are missing because Crystal secretly sold them. What are the chances that they are the same sets that Joshua discreetly dropped off at his Eugene store, which his employees identified as Ben's?

I'm no Sherlock Holmes, but I hope Ben got the employee statements on tape, and asked them which sets they saw Josh drop off.

Something tells me there might be some overlap in those sets and the ones that are "missing."

Just bought a Nirvana "In Utero" cassette, but Discogs has 2 releases that look identical. Can anyone help me figure out the difference?

https://www.discogs.com/release/12674263-Nirvana-In-Utero

https://www.discogs.com/release/9106982-Nirvana-In-Utero

Same year, same catalog number, same print on the cassette... Is there a visual difference in the two that I'm missing?

I'd love to be able to add the cassette to my Discogs collection, but I want to do so accurately. I'm looking at my copy, and I don't know which one to pick.

Josh Johnson, explaining to the cops how he acquired the store: "I work at the corporate HQ as well. So Ammon, the CEO, was like 'Hey, go rescue the Salem store, and you can have it for whatever the price you recover it for.'"

Video Axon_Body_3_Video_2026-03-08_1255_X60AF8422

I don't have the ability to clip at the moment, but that's an exact quote from him. Seems to heavily imply that he was promised the collection if he took over the franchise.

Probably late to the party, but what's the deal with /r/CoreyFeldman?

Before I found this sub, I found /r/CoreyFeldman, which is a "private community" that you have to be accepted to.

I assumed that telling the mods a true story about how "Corey once called me a satanist on twitter" would instantly get me approved to join, but sadly they must have turned me down.

But it has lead me wonder if it's just a dead community, or if it's run by Corey stans (if Corey stans actually exist). I just wanted somewhere to discuss the goblin ghoul, and I'm glad I ultimately found /r/JimandThem instead.

Does anyone remember an Atlanta hip-hop project or group (likely from the early 2000's) called "Uncharted Realms"?

I recently came across a vinyl record here in Atlanta that I'm trying to find some more information about, but the internet has been nothing but dead ends.

Here's a detailed post I made about it in /r/vinyl:

https://old.reddit.com/r/vinyl/comments/1tlye5f/found_this_odd_12_in_atlanta_looks_to_be_cut_by/

Here are some audio samples, in the hopes that someone here may recognize the voice:

Using the Wayback Machine I was able to find a basic intro splash page for the "Uncharted Realms" website, but even with that basic clue, I haven't been able to find anything else about the project.

Just a heads-up: A Rhino employee is saying that the 12GCC "powder blue" colored vinyl is almost sold out.

Supposedly 10,000 copies were pressed, and they're almost gone at this point. Get 'em while you can, boys!

I'm getting hit with tariffs, and could use some advice on how to proceed.

US here. After reading a few reddit threads about how vinyl records were exempt from tariffs, I placed a rather large order - $282 for 8 LPs - from France's Fnac.com.

They're being shipped in two separate deliveries by DHL. The first delivery is the smallest of the two - 3 records for $74 - and it is set to be delivered tomorrow. But TODAY I got an email saying that I must pay a $25 import duty fee before they deliver it.

33% is obviously a fucking crazy tariff charge, so I assume that's what they want for BOTH orders (closer to 10% of my total)? I really don't want to pay this, and then get hit with another 33% charge ($65) on the next package. What are the chances of that happening?

Is it possible to fight this tariff with DHL, considering vinyl records are supposed to be exempt from them? What is the procedure for doing so? How long would that process delay my delivery?

[Wanted] A couple records: Jane Birkin - Di Doo Dah / Sweet Enoughs - Marshmallow

I've been keeping my eyes open for a nice copy of Jane Birkin's Di Doo Dah for quite some time, but it doesn't seem that many people out there are willing to part with it. Specifically, I'd like one that SOUNDS clean. It's a somewhat delicate-sounding acoustic recording, and I'm looking to avoid copies with noticeable pops or background static.

I don't care if it's an original, a repress, or the newer Light In The Attic edition... but I am NOT interested in the new unofficial Russian pressing from the Endless Happiness label.

-----------

Also looking for a copy of Sweet Enough's Marshmallow.

A newer reissue is still available from their bandcamp page, but unfortunately, the shipping cost from Australia (almost as much as the LP itself) really kills my desire to support the artist directly. I'd be perfectly fine with a VG+ or better copy.

------------

Willing to pay fair prices, of course, but I also have plenty of stuff to trade if you're interested in a swap! Thanks!

To echo a sentiment posted here in r/Music yesterday, I was never a huge fan of country music but I could respect the likes of Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, etc., and it doesn’t help that I live out in redneck country so I hear this tractor rap crap at every gas station and grocery store within a 25 mile radius. All they talk about is beer, women, Daisy Duke shorts and their trucks. That’s 99.9% of all country music in this day and age, and people ironically listen to it.

Might I suggest some country music that's meant to be ironic, but is actually enjoyable to listen to? He does talk about beer, women, Daisy Duke shorts, and trucks... but he also talks about sucking dick, eating pussy, fucking his cousin, and kicking ass.

Wheeler Walker Jr. has been putting out records for a decade now, and I'm honestly kind of shocked that he hasn't found a wider audience. I understand why he hasn't, obviously, but he genuinely does write some impressive music.

These are some of my selected favorites from his discography. Just don't listen to them at work or in front of your parents.

And in the words of Wheeler, "Fuck Florida Georgia Line."

- Puss In Boots

- I Sucked Another Dick Last Night

- God Told Me To Fuck You

- Redneck Shit

- All The Pussy You Will Slay

- Fuckin Around

- Sit On My Face

- Family Tree

- I Like Smoking Pot (A Lot)
