Question about PBL

I’m going to start my studies (Bsc Biomedical Sciences) in september and I heard a lot about PBL.

From an outside perspective, it doesn’t seem all too bad since I believe that discussing/ explaining info is an excellent way to consolidate it. However, I was just wondering to what extent do these sessions actually prepare you for the exams? From what I understand the teacher mainly just remains silent the entire session so how do the students know what they have to study for the exam?
Also I heard that the discussions vary from one group to another, meaning that some groups have very engaging conversations and others just stay silent most of the time. If u end up in one of the latter groups, does that put u at a disadvantage when it’s time to take an exam?

Also, if there’s anyone who’s already doing the same degree as me I would appreciate more details about the topics you guys discuss during the sessions.

Thanks!

So I applied for a non selective program (bachelor of biomedical sciences) back in february. In March, I received a conditional admission letter from the university. I have since fulfilled the conditions stated in my letter, and now all my admission tasks in the my application portal are marked as complete.

My enrollment tasks are also checked off, with the exception of the tuition fee payment task, which hasn’t opened up yet.

What is the status of my application now? Should I expect to receive anything from the university (like a non conditional admission letter for example)? Will they assess my application again or something?

I tried asking the university but I didn’t really get a straight answer, so i’d appreciate it if anyone shared their experience. Thanks!
