[17] to [20] puberty and gym saved my life

I used to be small and thin. I was about 5’2”, and now I’m about 6’2”.

Back then I also had a long jaw (which I still have), and a long face on a small body, which made my proportions look a bit unusual overall. I also had a slight overbite, I guess, and my facial features just didn’t really match the rest of my frame at that time, so the whole appearance looked a bit awkward.

But over time I grew a lot, both in height and in overall body structure. Now my body feels much more balanced and proportional, and everything fits together in a more natural way. Because of that, I notice that people often react differently to me now I receive more compliments, and I also feel like I get more respect in everyday situations.

Why does my face look so different on video compared to the mirror?

I’m confused about how I actually look. In the mirror (and in mirror selfies), my face looks normal and proportional. Even in photos taken from farther away, I look pretty normal too.

But when someone records me on video close to my face, my face suddenly looks much longer and my forehead looks way bigger. It looks really different from what I see in the mirror.

Which version is actually closer to reality, and how do people really see me in real life?

I’m starting to get really tired of my dreads and thinking about switching things up completely. The problem is, I have no idea what would actually suit me
