Exchange year with health issues

I‘m still young for exchange year (9th going into 10th) but I had a question and I hope everyone here will be 100% honest in answering it.

Would you accept a student that has issues that require them for example to go the toilet often, and to stay there for 15-20 at a time? Would you accept a student that has to miss school 10-15 days a year because they get sick often? To what point are you willing to help the student with their issues?

Undecided on whether to continue with basketball.

I’m 14 (15 in october) and started playing basketball four years ago. For almost the entire year I’ve thought about quitting in the summer, and I’ll have to make a decision soon.

I‘d quit because:

- I don’t really have that much fun anymore. not that I’ve completely lost the passion, but certainly it isn’t as much as before.

- Practice destroys me. Call me a pussy, weak, whatever. Truth is, other than actual tiredness from practicing, I also have bowel issues and pectus excavatum, which at times reduces my stamina and has me gasping for air way before than my teammates. Combine all of these and practices can turn into garbage real quick.

- I’m not even good. I play in what in my country is the middle tier and average like 4 points a game. Sure, my coach wants me on defense and rebounding, but still. What i’ve got going for me is height (6’1-6’2, which even at my age is nothing exceptional but still a fuck ton of help which apparently I can‘t use properly). Going pro was never the plan, but all of this still bothers me quite a bit.

- More time for school. I’m a straight A student and would like to keep it that way, especially since next year is going to be significantly harder. I’m not sure I can put in the time for three 2-hour practices a week + 2 games (yes, we played double league this year. We’re still deciding for the next.)

- I feel like a failure way too often for my liking. I feel like I’m not as good as I should be.

I’d keep playing because:

- My friends. This is REALLY important. Every single one of my “main” friends is a teammate of mine. If I lose them and aren’t able to keep contact with them or make new friends, I’m fucked.

- Basketball keeps me active. I’ve tried to tell my mom I‘ll still be active, for example in the gym, but she still isn‘t convinced. And to be fair, I’m not either.

Just to be clear: I think I still love basketball. Just not the organised side of it.

Any opinion is welcome, sorry for the long post and for any mistakes (English isn’t my mother tongue)

Has anyone ordered from RetroSoccerKits?

It’s a google sponsored result, but it looks dodgy so I was wondering if anyone could share their experience
