I got a write up because I let a group of inmates argue. Feel like it’s bullshit

So yesterday I was working a dorm , and something happened which turned into a big argument between some bloods and crips it was about 4 crips and 5 bloods arguing. Through my time in corrections I’ve stopped calling for assistance whenever inmates argue, they argue all the time. So these guys are just arguing , nobody is fighting. I just stand on the floor and observe the argument I figured as long as they don’t fight, we’re good. If they would have fought I would
Have called for assistance immediately and sprayed them. So I’m observing and eventually the inmates shake hands and go on about their way. Today I go to work and I have a write up for failure to perform job duties. Apparently someone who watches the cameras witnessed the argument and said I didn’t do anything. I explained to my captain that I’m the one running the dorm, I’m going to run it how I see fit as long as it’s within policy. I don’t like calling for assistance every time something happens in the dorm. Especially if no contraband is involved , no physical violence is happening. Can I beat this write up or just wear it

Is it unprofessional to laugh if inmates say something funny?

For instance I work with this dude big white guy has a beard and a big head. Everytime we walk in the pod the inmates start singing big show theme song because of how he looks they also start screaming boss baby because of his appearance with him being my coworker I never laugh on the outside but on the inside I’m so dead

How much contraband is at your facility?

I worked corrections in Alabama, and every inmate had a knife , they had hunting knives, cell phones, shit we found a pocket pussy once, real liquor Hennessy etc etc now I’m at a county jail just started and the officers I work with get excited over finding shit like a extra Trey in a cell and I’m just like bro that’s nothing . Theres hardly any knives no cell phones at all, etc etc I guess coming from a place where all tell inmates had weapons , a lot of them had cell phones , drugs to a place where a good contraband find is a extra Trey or a rock in the dorm idk I kinda feel like the jail I’m working at is soft. The inmates act like toddlers vs in the pen the inmates acted like adults

How do I unfuck my life?

I’m 28 years old, currently homeless , my car is broke down. I live in an extended stay. I just started at job at the sheriff office making about 55k a year with unlimited overtime as a correctional officer. I’m in about 30-40k debt maybe a little less. I have zero dollars to my name. I struggle with adhd badly and have had a hard time becoming the man I’m supposed to be. Where do I go from here.
