Well ladies and gents I’m finally breaking down and asking for help from the Reddit community. I have a 1985 GMC Vandura with a 350 in it. I bought it sight unseen from an auction about a year and a half ago. In that time I have put about 10,000 trouble free miles on it. I use it to haul my dirtbike to go riding and I’ve been having an issue that is now affecting my Dirtbike riding which is unacceptable. It is acting like it is starving for fuel while accelerating. It accelerates fine until about 2500-3000 rpm and the hits a wall. I have replaced plugs, wires, fuel pump, fuel filters, air filter, pick up and sediment sock, ignition control module, cap, rotor and blown out the fuel lines. It starts up just fine and will rev up just fine but once it gets under load while driving is where I am having issues. Does anybody have any suggestions? Is it time to rebuild the carb?

After seeing my van getting posted twice by bot farms figured I’d give a real update. After getting the van home last December I removed the office from the back and installed 3 D-rings and 2 wheel chocks to haul my Dirtbike’s. I then proceeded to change all of the fluids, new ignition control module, cap, rotor, plugs and wires. I then went through the fuel system. At some point in its life someone broke one of the fuel pump bolts off in the block so it had been running a pos in line electric filter. Got the bolt extracted and went back to the mechanical while keeping a new electric on hand if the mechanical ever fails on the road. I also installed new warn hubs and a summit special exhaust. I then installed new seats from a ski bus, got some bitchin wheels and did a mechanical oil pressure gauge, water temp gauge and installed a tach. As of now I’ve just been figuring out the gremlins and deciding what’s next. I believe there is an LS swap in the near future. I have put around 10,000 miles on it since picking it up and have loved every bit of it.
