Tire size

I have a 1987 GMC R1500. What is the biggest tire someone has ran on their squarebody stock height? I plan on doing a 2 inch body lift and maybe 1 inch or so suspension. I dont want it to rub at all. I want 15 inch rims and want them to be wider but not sticking out a ton. Whats a good size tire and width and offset of rim. Any pictures of your trucks would also be great!!

1973 12 valve manual swap. Almost done

Thought I’d do a patina paint w this one. It turned out pretty well. The middle section has been touched up w white and yellow. All the rest is original paint

Fuel Pump Recommendations

My 4th of July is off to a dandy start, was out driving testing out things after significant ignition work, and wouldn’t ya know it, the fuel pump died. Of course, the part of the truck I didn’t touch was what let me down. Figures!

I’ve not been having good luck with mechanical pumps at all. Even my trusty (and now discontinued…) Carter M6626 pumps only lasted a few months each. They just don’t seem to make them like they used to…

So here’s my question. Those of you who daily drive their Squares (or any carb’d classic for that matter), what fuel pumps are you running? Electric or mechanical, in-tank, doesn’t matter, I just want to know what’s been working for y’all

Happy 4th! Don’t wind up on the side of the road like me!

Dang, can’t drive it to the cookin’

Started at 10 am, replaced master cylinder and bled brakes, replaced clutch master and slave and got it all bled. She runs, shifts and stops but running on a temporary tank. Just this minute discovered the fuel pump is shot. I didn’t see it on YouTube or anything but it is pretty easy to pull both parts of the clutch and bleed them on the bench together
Last on the road in 12
Oh well, I’m done in this Tx heat.

35x15.50 on a 4” lift?

Does anyone know if I can fit 35x15.50 on a 4” lift without cutting? Just picked these up for my blazer…

Wish Gpa could see her now.

I drove this truck in high school. Still have it today. Spent the last five years bringing it back to life and making it fun again. I just wish Grandpa could’ve seen it finished.

Looking at lifting a 1972 GMC C15 (2WD) – anyone running a lifted coil-spring/trailing-arm truck?

I'm looking at lifting my 1972 GMC C15 2WD a few inches. It has the factory coil-spring trailing-arm rear suspension and independent front suspension.

I'm thinking around a 4" suspension lift with 35x12.50R15s on 15x8 Mickey Thompson Classic III wheels.

I've found lots of information on lifted K10/K15s, but there doesn't seem to be much out there for the coil-spring C15s.

I'd love to see any pictures of your lifted C10/C15s and hear what suspension setup you went with. Any advice or things you'd do differently would be greatly appreciated.

I know... this probably goes against the cardinal rule... 4x4s go up, 2WDs go down.

Thanks!!!

Cab to bed spacing

What's the measurements that some of your squares are measuring? According to my bed to frame mount holes, my bed is as far forward as it can go. I'm just trying to figure out if it's in the neighborhood or if something needs to be introduced to a burr bit.
