NEW CUTTER?

I am in the market for a new cutter. I am looking at Coulter Peterson and Polar. Are there any other brands I should be considering? (32" or similar size as we are a digital shop)

Spare parts kit for Kohler 26RCA

I would like to build a spare parts kit for my new generator. Anyone with Kohler generators that can let me know what has been repaired on their generators in the past few years is greatly appreciated. (I am also looking for show stopper parts that are hard to get fast as well.)

I already have spare oil and filters. I am looking for a digital copy of the maintenance and service repair manual if anyone has these handy as well.

We had a week long power outage and all of my neighbors with generators were on constant rotation with checking/adding oil and we realized fast that adding oil is a necessity for longer runs. (I had a 14kw Kohler that ran better than all of the newer models my neighbors had (including a big 40kw Cummins!))

Appreicate your help.

Quickbooks integration needed...

I have been doing something absurd and I bet I am not alone. For years we use PrintSmith for our job tickets (only) and then have a person convert PS tickets to Quickbooks MANUALLY.... and it takes hours. If QB provided a job ticket, I would be set!

Is there a new solution out there that:

  1. Provides a good job ticket.

  2. Integrates seamlessly to Quickbooks? (I do not want to pull files over manually.)

Thank you!

Metro Water Bill?

I have been watching my bill at the office climb for a while now. I used to be easily below $90 a month for water/sewer and this month I am at $191 for an office with 8 people here. Usage is the same, but the price is not! Anyone else seeing their bill go up a lot?

Grasshopper 900d

First off, this is my first zero turn and I use it to mow about 10 acres each use. I have 75 hours on her and this is my second mowing season with this machine.

For those of you that own a Grasshopper…. Are you happy with the dealer network and the availability of parts? I ran all over town yesterday looking for a left hand threaded blade that broke when I was changing blades. I even tried calling and getting it sent overnight so I could mow and that is not an option.

Maybe it is the entire commercial zero turn industry that is slow to move, but this is crazy I can not get a bolt for a week. (I work on printing presses and we can get a part sent first overnight from Germany and get it the same day.)

Why are things so slow and backwards with lawn mower dealers?

I have a problem...

My current Kohler 14kw is not enough to keep up with the full home demand and we are adding the 26kw version. Our 14kw is 18 years old and has worked great and only had one long (6 days) run. I hate to throw it away and the dealer says $1000 trade in.

I am thinking of adding the new one and keeping the old one in place. Do I distribute LP a certain way? Is this just overcomplicating everything?

I own a successful printing (digital and wide format) in Nashville, TN and will be looking to make a move towards retirement in the next 5 years. I would like to find an out of town company that wants to move into the area and put their roots down. We have lots of happy customers and brand new equipment. My staff is second to none and we all love what we do. (I have grown this company for 25 years and would like to do something different now.)

If your company wants a new location in a growing city, give me a shout. I am just getting started on the hunt and happy to have a conversation.

I am about to upgrade my 14kw Kohler to a 26kw Kohler and found the units in Costco for $8k roughly. The install price from kohler on their generator/transfer switch is $16k (includes generator)...

My thought is to buy from Costco and then get my plumber/electrician to hook it up..any thoughts on this? (I am wondering where the $8k installation is ESPECIALLY when I have a generator/ATS already there and wired in...

I am confused. I pay $847 for my wife and myself (age 50 and great health) for health insurance. I got a colonoscopy and got charged full price for it. Why am I even paying for insurance if I am going to be charged for physicals and routine testing? Does anyone have a great plan they can share so I can drop these folks?
