Hi everyone,

I've been recently reading the Between Earth and Sky series by Rebecca Roanhorse and have loved seeing how matriarchal (totally misspelled that in the title) religious and political structures are so naturally build into the world and shapes leadership and decision-making. I sometimes get a little bit tired of reading fantasy to escape from this world and it upholding patriarchal structures with all the problems that come with it, oftentimes with pretty questionable treatment of women in the writing.

I've realised I have barely ever read any high/epic fantasy that contains such structures! I would really appreciate any recommendations on that front, I know the priory of the orange tree has something similar so that is already added to my TBR. Thank you! ☺️

It's above my bed to encourage me to not buy too many books before I read them so it doesn't collapse on me when I'm asleep :))

Got my first tattoo today! The placement is not symmetrical as its based on where my fingertips naturally fall when I hug myself plus I have a little bone deformation on one hand!

EDIT: Didn't realise this post was going to get so much engagement (🫶) so since I didn't orginally do so: I want to shout out to the wonderful artist behind this piece - Sarah (insta @pinkiekiller) at AWOL Tattoos, Galway!
