Beginner Library

Getting back into reading seriously now that I’ve graduated college, so this is what I’ve slowly accumulated over the years! I use Libby and Kindle Unlimited too so lowkey on a book ban til end of year.

Some books are hidden in the back because I have no space 🤷🏻‍♀️

My wife's and mine bookshelves.

As my wife loves to say: "The land of whimsy and emotional damage!".
This is our "show off" shelf, other books are scattered everywhere.

Here's my humble entry to your sub.

This is only a quarter of my collection. The rest is in storage due to low space. I've been slowly going through everything and putting my favorites on display. Eventually I'd like to have a nice bookshelf just for my books.

They're kinda organized by genre and but mostly size.

My collection so far 🖤

Just a smidge over a year since I rediscovered a love for reading, and the collection has come together quite nicely so far!

While there hasn’t been nearly enough time to get around to reading everything just yet, there’s always plenty of time to stand in front of it and gaze adoringly, while the rest of the world continues to go on around me.

Having a bookshelf as lower middle class in developing country

The collection is built since I was nine by me and my older sister. Sister got work in different place and I'm studying in different region. Everytime I come back for vacation I always tidy it up but it always end up like this again:( Seeing this photo in family group sadden me, it would be a good place to take a photo if it's tidy duh.

I finally have a bookshelf for myself. I wonder how long until the kid's books make it onto this one too.

I made this bookshelf out of red oak plywood and solid red oak. My inspiration were walnut bookshelves with a dark green back. Since everyone wants walnut right now, I went with a cheaper option. I wanted a bookshelf that had minimal wasted space. I designed the shelf dimensions to fit a trade paperback comfortably. If anyone has recommendations for small lamps that sit/clamp to the top and hang over, I would appreciate that.

Everything you need

A friend needed a bed following a row with his partner, so I gave him an air mattress in my office

Here's my shelves, need some ideas for lighting the room better

Here's my library, growing with more fantasy titles lately. Just added some Brodart dust covers onto some books and the only light in the room comes from my PC which just glares heavily on the plastic covers. So I'd love some ideas for light while I have minimal floor/corner space left to dedicate to lamps. Either that or just let me know your thoughts on my books!
