Fellow Tricksters, is this canon? Should I call my family before it’s too late? :-D

Fellow Tricksters, is this canon? Should I call my family before it’s too late? :-D

After years of owning DBD, I finally bought my very first cosmetics EVER (apart from the two latest Rift passes). I went straight into a match to test the skin, brought an Ebony Mori for the drama, especially because I don’t remember ever facing this skin myself.

I picked Trickster even when I’ve only played him for about 3.5 hours so far, but I immediately fell in love with his gameplay.

In endgame chat, Claudette informed me that people who play Trickster "become familyless in 2 days." Then they left the exact same message on my profile, just to make sure the debuff was properly applied.

Is this true? Do I have 48 HOURS? Is there counterplay, or is it already too late?? 😭

They were probably only mad because they were the only one who died on hook after first stage, because nobody came to unhook them (I have no idea why, I wasn’t anywhere nearby and didn’t even notice until I heard the sacrifice sound.)

But damn, that insult actually made me laugh. It was so oddly specific :-D.

Imagine being the only one who brought a Torte, trying a killer for the first time, going for Adept, and still getting this in endgame chat

I bought a bunch of new killers after quite some time and immediately hopped into a match as The First. I didn’t realize matchmaking would most likely put me against very low-MMR players since I had only leveled him up to P1, so I wasn’t mentally prepared for the high chance of toxicity.

I don’t think I did too badly. I mainly focused on triggering Worldbreaker as often as possible to get a grasp of his vine attacks, so I prioritized gaining tokens over basic M1 hits most of the time. With two gens remaining, I had three hooks and one sacrifice, accepted my defeat, and ended up in an awesome long chase with one Meg who was really good . I chased her for the rest of the game 🤗.

Well, this is what came after - even though they saw my basic perks and that I brought a tortie.

When I switched to playing killer almost exclusively this January, I had been a survivor main for years, so I at least understood the mechanics. If this is what new players experience the very first time they try killer, and even repeatedly, I don’t understand how they keep going :-/. I’d be really bummed out if this happened to me.

Do you try to help survivors learn by punishing their major misplays? If so, how does that usually go? Have you ever gotten a "thank you" note? :-D

I just had a match that lasted about four minutes as the Dark Lord. I was doing a hooking tome with Iron Grasp, so I wasn’t aiming to slug at all, quite the opposite.

It all went like this: I immediately switched to wolfie and found the first scent orbs. Two identical Sables with flashlights (definitely SWF) were working on a gen. I chased one while being very aware that the second one was literally running behind me THE ENTIRE TIME.

I faked a pickup to lure the second Sable in front of me. It worked beautifully, and I downed her. When I picked her up, the third survivor, Kate, jumped out of nowhere and tried to blind me. I quickly turned around, dropped Sable, chased Kate, and downed her around the next corner because she waited at the pallet, so I just Hellfired her while she stood there injured.

Sables downed. Kate hooked. I had no idea where the fourth survivor was.

I quickly changed into bat form and teleported to where I vaguely remembered downing the Sables. I was prepared to search for them, with one most likely already picked up by the fourth survivor. But they were both lying on top of each other in the exact same spot :-D.

I picked one Sable up to hook her, and instead of the fourth survivor going to unhook Kate while I was very busy, they (Jill) suddenly appeared next to me and kept trying to blind me the whole time I was carrying her. So, of course, I hit her. After the hook, I chased Jill and downed her too.

Well, I hooked her and went for the last Sable - and guess what? She was still lying in the exact same spot from the beginning :-D. So I hooked her too and watched them all go to survivor heaven at the same time.

In the chat, I wrote, "I have no idea what your play there was. Why did you all just circle around me?" And those two Sables, plus the third survivor, called me a trash noob killer, told me to uninstall, and said, "Get good, kid". Then they found my profile and left a comment about me being a prime example of "slugging garbage slutty teen". Since I’m an almost 34 year old woman, I took it as a compliment 🤣🤣. It’s especially funny because I don’t slug unless it’s a hardcore sabo squad, because I don’t find it fun at all.

What I genuinely want to ask survivors in situations like this is: what exactly do you expect the killer to do?

If you all run around the killer with flashlights, ignore hooks, refuse to use the time the killer gives you to reset, don’t pick anyone up, don’t make distance, and just keep hovering around the same spot, what are killers supposed to do? Should we just stand there and pretend we don’t see you?

It’s just so crazy that majority of survivors I run into have no desire to actually learn from their mistakes whatsoever nowadays. They didn’t make a single right decision there, and somehow I was the problem 🤦‍♀️.

OH MY GOD, I MADE A HUGE MISTAKE

My first successful EGC orbital and I feel like garbage now 😭

Two last survivors were lingering at the gate, and I immediately assumed they were both doing the usual exit gate toxicity.

In the lobby, 3 people last-second switched to flashlights (Robin was one of them) and of course they spent the whole match trying to blind me as much as possible. I’m used to that, but it was a pretty fast-paced game, so it wasn’t too annoying at first. But when I saw their auras at the gate, I got frustrated because I really didn’t want to deal with it in that moment.

Still, I told myself I could try one more orbital. I really didn’t think it would land, so I was prepared to feel nothing about it. Just a casual throw.

But then Robin tried to blind me and did her little dance, and I got tilted out of my mind. I actually thought Feng was the one who tried to blind me.

So when I got the orbital, I was so freaking hyped. I had only been learning orbitals for about an hour, and this was my 3rd match trying them, so I was like "YEEES, FINALLY, ANOTHER ENTITY KARMA AND SUCH A COOL ONE".

And then I watched it back because of the orbital misplays and realized Feng wasn’t being toxic AT ALL.

She was crouching to say GG. She dropped her toolbox. She had zero hooks. I barely even saw her all match.

I punished the ONLY survivor who wasn’t being toxic because I am so used to t-baggers and flashlight bullies wasting my time that I just assumed the worst.

I desperately wanted to apologize to her, but she was console player. I honestly wish she could see this post.

So now my first successful endgame orbital feels like absolute trash.

To the toxic survivors who make killers this paranoid: I hope the Entity personally collects your kneecaps.

I’ve been playing killer almost exclusively for half a year now, and even when I was a survivor main back in 2018, I have never wanted to find someone online as desperately as I want to find this Feng 😭😭.

▲ 42 r/thesims

I found this old phone photo while cleaning up my hard drive, and WOW, THINGS were happening :-D

It’s named "Never a Dull Moment in TS2."

I immediately remembered what was going on. This happened halfway through a wedding party. The kitchen caught fire because the bride messed up the Baked Alaska. While the Grim Reaper was arriving, someone who hated the groom ran over and angrily kicked over his trash can.

Now, there are two possibilities. Either the bride is upstairs in the bathroom because she got burned and her hygiene dropped almost to zero, and the person who died was some random guest.

Or, since there are already two guests there, and I remember that in the very early days, the game would sometimes only let you invite a max of two Sims to a party to keep the PC from crashing, that would mean the person who died was actually the bride.

Holy crap, that game really was never boring 😂😂😂.

Also, why the heck was my sim wearing a llama mask with his outerwear outfit 😃? I definitely didn’t set it as the default because I was actively avoiding these shenanigans. Maybe it was some kind of coping mechanism 🤔.

I finally had my very own "just leave" moment, and it was so hilarious it made me burst out laughing

I’m used to survivors healing at the gate. I even understand why Nancy was being daring here, but Gabriel… what exactly was the plan??? :-D :-D

I spent more time walking across Garden of Joy than chasing survivors. Is my 3-day Deathslinger career already over? :´-D

Guys, unfortunately I don’t have it recorded, but OMG. I just had a match as the Deathslinger on the Garden of Joy map.

I immediately went to the other side of the map. I checked the generator upstairs in the house midway through. During that time, I didn’t meet anyone, and TWO gens popped - one on the side I was heading to, and one that I unfortunately don’t remember now :-/. Somewhere behind my back.

Then I went back to the other side of the map again because there was no one on the gen. I quickly checked all the gens near the edge of the map as I "ran" past them, and about three-quarters of the way there, another gen popped. Then I encountered and injured one survivor.

When I finally reached the other side again, where I suspected survivors were working on a gen, it popped just as I was few meters away - two of them were repairing that one.

After about a 25s chase with one of them and one reel, I hooked the survivor, and the last gen popped when I took two steps away from the hook. During EGC, I managed to hook at least two more survivors because I saw them enter a locker.

My build was nothing exciting: Gearhead, Dead Man’s Switch, Hex: Retribution, and Hex: Undying.

The survivors didn’t even have anything exciting for gen rush either, not even meta stuff, just 2 Déjà Vus, 2 Resiliences, 1 Bond, and 2 toolboxes. The other perks were distraction and stealth perks.

The match lasted 7 minutes, and about 1,5 minutes of that was because the survivors lingered at the gate. I mean... WHAT 😃 How... how is this even possible to play against? 😃

I mean, really - is this normal with a 4.4 m/s killer on this map, with a build that doesn’t use perks for slowdown gen repairs, or what should I have done differently? Anything - pathing, choosing different gens to check first, etc.

I don’t want to see that map as an immediate loss 😞. I mean, I honestly don’t care if I lose with him every time by not getting any kills, but I’d really like to actually get into some chases sometimes, or at least hook more people on big maps 😂.

Most of the killers I play are low-tier M1 killers who have a movement speed of 4.6–5.0 m/s, and my average casual result with them when I’m not sweating is 2 kills.

Is this a common bug with The Animatronic not seeing the door numbers, or is it a new one? Is there anything I can do to prevent it?

Sometimes I can´t see the security door numbers when entering the office. It happens in about 1 out of 4 matches and lasts for the whole game. It´s practically a guaranteed loss because I can´t coordinate without them.

I tried using Bonnie´s Guitar Strings as a workaround, but I don´t really like that add-on on him :-(.

EDIT: I have no troubles with map navigation in general. When this happens I play him without relying on the doors but it mostly results in 1 kill (if I am lucky) because of his movement speed.

Was this just normal, terrible gameplay from my side as Doctor, or was it a cheater?

For the record, it was my 4th match as Doctor, so I’m a complete newbie with him.

Basically, I had a match where I suspected a cheater pretty much from the beginning and let myself get wound up by it. Unfortunately, I don’t have the first long chase with her (Ada) recorded, but it happened in a similar area to this one, just without a pallet. I just couldn’t hit her at all, even though I used Shock Therapy much less than I did in this chase. It felt really weird. So I let her go and went for someone else, and everything went okay. I even managed to down them quite easily at the same spot where I couldn’t hit Ada.

Then I initiated 2nd chase with Ada - after few moments, that’s where the clip starts - and I just couldn’t let it go. The last chase starts at 1:18, and that’s where the strange Madness level change becomes really obvious.

During the 2nd chase, it felt like she let herself get hit on purpose at one point. I was really convinced she was a cheater, so I even camped her while she was downed during the endgame and kept shaking my head at the others to leave her, but they all tried to save her, so I let it go because I didn’t want to prolong it anymore.

After the match, I saw that her perks were Stake Out, Hyperfocus, Dead Hard, and Resilience. The others had solo, non-meta perks - nothing that boosted the team with haste or something.

So I did my research and found out that using Shock Therapy reduces the killer’s speed, so that’s most likely what was happening, because I overused it a lot because I kept trying to stop her from vaulting or using pallets. I think that’s also what kept removing my Bloodlust, right?

But Shock Therapy never seemed to work on her when I tried to block her from vaulting or using pallets, while I had no trouble with the others when I chased them - it worked every time. Also, several times it looked like Shock Therapy didn’t hit her at all, even though it felt like it should have.

When I watch it now, it was probably just because she looped me really well, and I also had the Interview Tape add-on, which changes the shape of Shock Therapy. So maybe the reason I had no trouble with the others was simply that they weren’t as good at looping.

So in the end, I came to the conclusion that she probably wasn’t a cheater and that I got baited, tilted myself, and threw the game against a skilled player for no reason 😃. But I would really like to know for sure.

There is still one thing I haven’t managed to solve: how did she keep losing Madness III so fast without snapping out of it? And I finally managed to block a pallet for her only at the end of the last chase, when the Shock Therapy reached her the exact right second.

Again, when the others reached Madness III, they never lost it during a chase. What did she do to counter my blocking + how come she kept losing the Madness level?

Returning Rank 265 player here - I’d love to help newer/casual players while getting back into heists, missions, and random activities

Hi, I’m looking for people to play GTA Online with - preferably newer, lower-ranked, or casual players who don´t mind playing with someone returning after a very long break.

I recently migrated my old account to GTA V Enhanced. My character is Rank 265 and I have 1300+ hours in GTA V overall, but honestly, I barely remember what is happening on my account anymore. I played a lot years ago, came back briefly in 2021, and then stopped again. Now I’m working on 100% Story Mode completion and thought it would be nice to get back into Online too.

The problem is that my account looks "advanced," but It´s incredibly confusing and it´s just a lot to take in. I remember the original heists, Diamond Casino Heist, and the last big thing I did was Cayo Perico. Everything else feels pretty overwhelming now.

(My Social Club profile is public if you want to check my stats; I can send it in DM or you can find me under the same username I have here, or we could connect through Steam.)

So instead of focusing on my own progress, because I find my resources sufficient for now, I’d like to join other players and help with their stuff. Heists, setups, businesses, missions, races, adversary modes, parachuting, random activities - honestly, even the “boring” normal GTA Online stuff is fine. I mainly want to get familiar with the game again and have a reason to play without feeling lost.

I’d probably be most comfortable with newer/lower-ranked players or casual players, because I need to dust off my old bones a bit :-D. I don’t want to accidentally ruin the experience for players who are already very efficient or expect perfect runs, but if you don’t mind having someone who’s getting back into it, I’m in too. 😄

A bit about me:

  • PC / Steam / GTA V Enhanced
  • EU / Czech Republic
  • 33-year-old woman
  • If needed, text chat only, no voice chat (I'm just an introverted person, that's all)
  • Achievement hunter
  • Really good sport
  • My impossible GTA Online dream is getting Criminal Mastermind achievement someday :3

Main rule: no loud raging at teammates for being bad. Mistakes, chaos, failed setups, and people learning are part of the experience. I am totally fine with imperfect runs as long as people are chill :-P. I have enough toxicity from Dead By Daylight :´-D.

If anyone wants a returning player to help with their missions/heists/businesses or just play random activities together, feel free to message me! 😄
