What’s the front vent looking thing?

2019 ford transit bus, used to be a handydart. Just curious what the front most vent looking thing is. It looks like a speaker on the inside (I can get a pic of that too if needed). I know the middle one is an escape hatch and the rear one is a flettner.

J pole antenna with one inch copper

I have a bunch of one inch copper and fittings left over so figured I’d make my first antenna. All the calculators I’ve found are for 1/2 or 3/4 inch copper. Will these measurements work for one inch as well. Or will I have to make them longer and trim it?

Edit: this would be for vhf

Update : I just went for it and added an inch to the lengths so I could shorten them as needed. It ended up pretty close, just need to fine tune the coax location

Thank you everyone

What are these drill bits for?

I found these drill bits at a garage sale and bought them because I thought they were neat

Edit: thanks everyone. I can’t wait to butcher some holes!

2m base station antenna

I have an Icom 2300 that I currently have in my pick up. I’d like to use it as a base station at my cabin when I’m there.

My issue is that while I have my licence and like to use the repeaters (146-147.000) my friends and family that also use the cabin only have commercial radios (153-154.000)

Is there an antenna that will cover all these frequencies or are they too far apart?

The cabin has metal roof and siding. I’ll be putting up a small tower to try and get away from that.

There terrain is hilly and forested

If my toe was severely ingrown, could I just hit it real good with a hammer so the nail falls off? Growing back all normal and what not
