Help - new owner and trying to open pool

We just bought this house with an above ground saltwater pool (no idea how much water it holds, I guess I need to do some math).

We hired a pool company to help with maintenance as we have no idea what we’re doing. They have since ghosted us. In the process of attempting to open the pool, it has very quickly turned green. We’ve raised the water level, but have not yet turned on the filter / salt cell etc.

Trying to figure out how to start fixing this ourselves- any and all advice for dummies is appreciated.
Do we add chemicals and try to knock back the algae first BEFORE turning on the filter / proceeding with opening? Or get the filter running asap and also add chemicals?

Paint/wallpaper ideas?

Looking for design advice on the walls of this dining room/ general opinions on finishes. I’d like for the room to generally be green-toned, but in a way that complements the oak trim well and doesn’t overpower the room. One idea was adding mural wallpaper (last pic) to the top half of the wall.

Notes:
- current white & beige wallpaper and paint came with the house
- furniture must stay. I plan to reupholster the chairs so that fabric is changeable
- I love the rug but it might be too small?
- I neither love nor hate the chandelier, came with the house
