An old YouTube review suddenly took off after two years—honesty can have a long shelf life -- My unpopular TV series review was ignored at first, then suddenly gained 525,000 views -- Don’t delete your old YouTube videos—they may find an audience One years later READ BELOW

I wanted to share a small YouTube lesson that recently surprised me.

In 2023, I uploaded a review of a popular TV series. Most well-known reviewers seemed to like it, but I honestly didn’t. I felt the storyline was weak and questioned whether viewers would return for another season.

At the time, the video received around 155,000 views. It performed reasonably well, but eventually the views slowed down. I assumed it had reached its limit.

The second season was released in 2025, and unfortunately, it performed much like I had expected. The show eventually ended after two seasons, with its cancellation later reported in the news announced last month.

And Now, completely unexpectedly, my old review started getting attention again last week. I noticed a sudden spike in the YouTube analytics graph, followed by thousands of new views, hundreds of comments, and many likes. The video has now reached around 500,000 new views and is still gaining more.

Many of the new comments say that the review identified shows problem before other reviewers were willing to discuss them. Some viewers also said that popular reviewers may have been reluctant to criticize show because of their relationship with platform or OTT industry.

I’m not claiming that I predicted everything perfectly. I simply shared my honest opinion at that time, even though it went against popular view.

My experience reminded me that creators should try to be honest rather than simply saying what is likely to be popular. A video may not succeed immediately, but people discover it later when circumstances change. Sometimes viewers return to older content because it becomes relevant again.

It also convinced me not to delete old videos just because they are no longer receiving many views. Older videos can remain valuable assets. They may suddenly become relevant after a new season, a cancellation, a controversy, or some other event—even one or two years later.

So my advice to fellow creators is simple: make content honestly, keep your older videos online when possible, and don’t assume that a video’s future is over just because its views slow down. You never know when viewers may find it again.

Laws changes in INDIA on AI made content

Laws changes in INDIA on AI made content

As per changes made to Indian IT laws and rules in May 2026, it is now made compulsory to mark every AI-generated content to "Synthetically generated" or other such name (AI-generated is included) . Plus there need to be a disclaimer for videos that "following video contains 'synthetically generated' content in the video.

It means if you make a AI generated image, and post that AI image, on Instagram or Twitter or Facebook or Youtube, as per new rules, that should be clearly marked "AI-generated" and it should be "visible and readable". If you use very small font or use text that is not clealry visble to normal human eyes, then such content can be strike down or removed.

Similarly, if in any Youtube video, you use AI image, AI video, AI graphics, AI voice, even for one second, or for even one frame, as per new rules, that entire video has to be marked as "AI generated" and that word should be "visible and readable" to normal human eyes. Exampls: If your video is say 3 min long. In between you use 2 or 3 AI generated images. Then even for using it for one or two second, the law require that full 3 min long video, has to be marked 'AI generated'. Same goes for AI-graphics and AI-video clips etc.

Govt of India, in May 2026 has notified the changes, and all social media (Insta, YT, Snap, Twitter, Reddit, etc) were given 90-day compliance window. That is almost coming to end. In 4-Aug-26 meeting at Ministry of Information, Govt has asked about compliance report within 20-days.

So all content creators from India, please be careful. To be on safe side of law, if you make videos, clearly use a 5 sec disclaimer that your video use 'Synthetically generated' content. And add a small watermark "AI generated" which is 'visible and readable' on your AI image or AI graphic or AI vid clip you use in your long form video.
