A very weak post-deval win

Very weak dp where I guess I did not lose. Booked Maison Metier for 21k per night in low season last month, checked today and saw that august redemptions are 20k per night on lowest. Due to personal restraints this was our only time to visit NOLA anyway. Quickly cancelled original booking to rebook and saved 1k points per night. Very conscious it's still an overall loss where 95% we're getting a worse deal, but I guess there will still be occasions where points aren't fully useless.

We have some FN certs to burn and were intrigued by some of the design hotels in CDMX for a trip somewhere early 2027. I was bummed out to see no availability for my interested dates, but there were no cash rates available for any date after December 30 2026 for any of the design hotels (circulo mexicano, downtown mexico, condesa df and Habita). Even tried booking.com and just googling and all no 2027 dates.

Any idea if this is a design hotels habit? Will email the hotels too but first time seeing this. Considering we're in May it's also strange to have no January openings
