Hi! Can someone please explain the start of the legs to me? I don't understand how to fit the first row of stitches in a chain of 7 (6). It seems like I need 11 spaces.

Is it a magic ring but in a different way? I've never used the alternative mr that's made with chains so maybe that has me confused.

On some other pattern videos I've found they just use a magic ring. Will it turn out the same as this picture if I just use a mr here?

Mama plant is now sitting nicely in her bigger pot, hopefully the little one will get some new roots in their little vase and I am able to bring 'm back together.
