I am seeking representation for my 72,000 word fantasy novel, Champions of Kardia, my debut novel. The novel's unique and approachable worldbuilding sits alongside Brandon Mull's Beyonders trilogy, while also bearing mature and compelling character arcs comparable to John Robert's King of the Wood.

In the vast kingdom of Kardia, a young fisherman named Arkose tries to pay his way out of prison after a night gone wrong. He decides to enroll in a gladiator style tournament for the reward of a substantial cash prize, which leads him to discover an ancient magic residing within him, as well as his place in an esoteric prophecy about the future of his kingdom.

As he travels across the kingdom, seeking answers about this newfound power, he is ruthlessly hunted by the vengeful sorcerer Lucius. A dangerous man with the ultimate goal of ruling Kardia with an iron fist. Burdened by the pressure of protecting his home, and the onslaught of threats that lie ahead, Arkose faces battles both outside and within, creating a circle of tension that will either refine or destroy him. Meanwhile, Lucius moves quickly as he and his league of acolytes work tirelessly, spreading chaos and misery across the land as they search for the prophesied champion. The fate of Kardia rests upon the shoulders of an unlikely hero. Joining him on this journey is his best friend Cassian, a former knight of the Kardian army who is haunted by his past. As well as Erin the half-orc, a gladiator with her heart on her sleeve.

Champions of Kardia is a hopeful and exciting addition to the fantasy genre, offering a fun reimagining of classic fantasy tropes, new ideas and concepts to give readers something refreshing and unique, and some dashes of comedy sprinkled throughout it.

I am a university student studying creative writing, and have been working on both this project and many others for several years now. As this is my debut novel, I have not yet been published, so I hope that you are interested in my vision and will be of support in getting my idea to the world.

For context, I’ve had digestive issues my entire life (likely IBS but still not technically diagnosed). Because of this, I have to follow a pretty strict diet to prevent flare ups and other issues.

But I honestly hate doing that. There are so many delicious foods (especially desserts) that I love very much, but can’t eat without feeling immense discomfort or pain.

So a solution I’ve thought up is to use lucid dreams to be able to taste these foods again, without any negative effects. The thing I’m curious about is if it will be the same.

Does dream food taste the same as it does in real life? Or is something off with the flavor, texture, or any other part of it?
