Has anyone working as an independent contractor with Lionbridge or Propio kept their account after being unavailable for 10 to 12 months? I interpret non-Spanish-language content for U.S. government-related assignments and am planning to spend about a year abroad. Since I understand I can't interpret from outside the U.S., I wouldn't take any calls while overseas. I'd still return to the U.S. for part of the year, likely during the summer, and would be available to work again then. Has anyone been in this situation? Were you able to stay an active contractor, or did you have to reapply or get removed from the program? I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone with firsthand experience, as the answer will have a major impact on my plans.
