Problem of performance pc processor
Hello, I’ve been having a major PC performance issue since May 15th, and I really need your help to solve it. I am French and I'm reposting this here because crossposting is disabled and I really need some technical advice.
About 10 days before this problem started, I installed my new RTX 5060 Ti graphics card properly (DDU in Safe Mode, installation of the new NVIDIA drivers, and all subsequent updates). At one point, when I launched the game I usually play (ARK: Survival Evolved), a massive 50% drop in performance occurred. I noticed the FPS drop immediately because I always play with the Steam FPS counter enabled. I restarted my PC, but nothing changed.
After that, I really started wondering where the issue was coming from. I began running a lot of benchmarks (here is the link to the one I started with:https://userbenchmark.org/fr/). I immediately saw there was a problem; the score went from 99/100 down to 80/100. But that wasn't precise enough.
So, I followed what an AI suggested doing: First, it told me to check if ReSize BAR and Above 4G Decoding were enabled (they already were). Next, it suggested enabling D.O.C.P (it wasn't enabled, but turning it on changed nothing). Then, it told me to enable Asus Performance Boost in the BIOS.
To give you some context, for almost a year before upgrading my GPU, I was running these exact components and they worked perfectly: Ryzen 7 5700X, RTX 5060 8GB Palit, 32GB DDR4 3200 MHz RAM, an MSI MAG 750W PSU, an ASUS Prime A520M motherboard, and a good case with decent airflow.
After enabling ASUS Performance Boost, everything went back to normal! But as soon as I restarted my PC, the performance dropped right back down, and the issue persisted (even with APB still enabled).
I then installed OCCT and ran stability tests on all my components (I would love it if you guys could tell me exactly what tests to rerun to properly diagnose the issue, as I'm not entirely sure about my current OCCT results). After that, I ran some tests using CapFrameX. In the "Analysis" tab under the "Sensor Data" window, I noticed that my CPU usage was only at 40% while gaming. Normally, I run the game at 1080p Ultra settings at around 300 FPS. With this issue, I'm stuck between 90 and 100 FPS.
Because of this, I concluded that the processor was the bottleneck. To be absolutely sure and not lead myself down the wrong path, I retested the system with my old RTX 5060 after the issue started, and it resulted in the exact same poor performance.
A friend then advised me to format my PC. I followed his advice, but unfortunately, it led to the exact same result with the same game and the same in-game settings. After that, I decided to swap the motherboard. I tested again with both graphics cards like before, but still, nothing changed. So, I tried testing with a Ryzen 7 5800X, but the results were exactly the same. I even looked into temperatures, so I bought a better CPU cooler which dropped my CPU temps from 80°C down to 60°C, but it didn't change the performance at all.
So now, I’ve been stuck at this exact same point for a month and a half... Please help me!
