Are there any advantages to using a sword for melee as a guard or light infantry?

I'm pretty okay with the bayonett, i just can't figure out the sword.

Can we get an American Revolution US outfit for the 250th?

We have the redcoat, and we have both sides of the Civil War, I think its about time we get a blue coat American Revolution outfit, especially for the 250th.
