My daughter is 5 and is level 2. She also has a rare genetic disorder. Today the stress was really getting to me and I started to cry. I've always been really open with my emotions around my kids and when my 5 year old saw me cry she said, "What's wrong mommy? Why are you sad?"

She learns in gestalt scripts so she repeated what I've said to her before, but she substituted her name with Mommy. She even wiped my tears.

Today was filled with intense dysregulation, meltdowns, and lack of sleep...but there is hope that one day things won't be as hard.

I'm looking for opinions on the life skills program that this school has. Preferably, I'd love to hear from people who have experience with it. I have a specific safety concern because their playground isn't fenced in and that seems like a big elopement risk.
