I get the sentiment for the original design, but I think we’re all being too harsh on the new design. This isn’t like BWBA where it is still pretty bad but still greatly overhated regardless. Don’t get me wrong, the original design is still better and I do wish they stuck to it, but I still think this redesign works well for what this reboot is going for. He doesn’t really look too modern compared to the original anyway, and plus I like how the white roof looks.

I thought this clip had great meme potential, so I rolled with it.

Welcome back to this series of mine where I look at abandoned Thomas characters from the original tv series that most wouldn’t expect to return and see what you guys would do with them if you were to suggest bringing them back. This week’s character I’ve chosen is Cleo, the wacky road engine, who is also one of the last characters introduced in the show. Like Neville, I’m pretty indifferent about Cleo but wouldn’t be opposed to seeing her return. I think the idea behind her is pretty cool, being one of Ruth’s inventions and a car that can travel on both road and rail, and being young and inexperienced, kinda like Ivo Hugh, except she was probably handled better as a character. If I was to bring Cleo back, I’d probably expand on her childlike personality, but I would tone down her ability to move up and down and spin 360 degrees as I and many fans find that to be too over the top and unrealistic (not to say no car in real life has that ability though, if there is one that exists, do let me know), if she wasn’t as over the top cartoonish, I think fans would probably like her a lot more. How would you work Cleo into the 2026 reboot if you were to bring her back?

Let’s start with Neville, who has basically become the poster boy for characters who were created just to sell toys and then barely or never appeared again and have little to no personality. Personally I don’t really care about Neville as a character, but I wouldn’t mind seeing him again someday, the way he was portrayed in his episode makes me think he could be like the Neville Longbottom of Thomas if the show bothered to do more with him. If I was to bring him back, I’d have him pull goods trains from the eastern side of the island and portray him as a mix of Neville Longbottom and 5 from Shane Acker’s 9.

How would you work Neville into the 2026 reboot if you were to bring him back?

This may not be the best Pixar film from the 2000s, but this is still a good movie and one that holds a special place in my heart, the Cars franchise was one of my biggest obsessions as a kid next to Thomas the Tank Engine, I watched it so many times and collected a good majority of the diecasts.

This is a silly thought I’ve had since reading this person’s comment last night, this would likely not happen, but what would you guys think if Megan and Jodie got together over their similarities?

I decided to paint up Salty’s bonnets, his and Mavis’ handrails and add a bit more detail to make him more accurate to the real Class 07, along with adding Mavis’ sideplates, painting Charlie’s bufferbeams and moving the NWR initials down so to put the name back on her nameplate. Hope you guys like my edits, if I buy these, I’ll probably paint them up like this.
