How to process things and think

I’ve noticed that whenever someone says a rule or policy that’s not very smart or useful (like yk camps events retreats etc) I still immediately adhere to it, no internal questioning or thinking abt why it exists. ppl that r the same age as me, on the other hand, think thru and sometimes ask rlly good questions as to why that rule exists.

i feel kinda dumb and like I lack basic common sense bc of this. I for like i can’t think for myself either. I want to improve my critical thinking but whenever I try to analyze why the rule exists my mind goes blank. pls share tips on how to question things around you, I‘d love to be able to think for myself

How do you stand up for yourself without breaking into tears?

Whenever I try to stand up for myself or express my emotions, especially if someone isn’t treating me well, like five mins later I end up fighting tears and my mind goes blank with what I was going to say. It’s extremely aggravating bc I dont end up saying what I want to say. I end up caving in and trying to escape the moment. Does anyone else feel the same way? How do you all deal with this type of tendanc?

Regular Short period cycle advice

My cycle is every 20 days and I’ve had my period for 5 years, so it’s regular. It’s kinda too short and im not sure if it’s bad for my health long term. My doctor says there’s nothing they can do abt it other than birth control, with is a big no for me. I’m pretty active in my life and am in good health. I don’t want my short period cycle to affect the quality of my life.
Any advice on how to deal w this? Is there any natural way to make my cycle longer without pills?

Setting boundaries and being assertive without feeling bad

I was raised to be super polite and be agreeable and submit to authority. I also avoid confrontation at all cost and shrink myself to please others. but after working in customer service and dealing w a vast array of ppl, I noticed that ppl like me get the short end of the stick whereas more assertive ppl get what they want.

i want to start by setting boundaries but when I try (like “can u pls give me 5 mins“ or “can u take a step back) I feel guilty and awkward for no reason (that is, if I can squeeze out the words). Obviously whenever I do set boundaries I feel better in the long term, but it’s js so hard to get started. My mouth always freezes on spot and I want to stop shrinking myself out of habit.

TLDR : What tips/phrases do u all use to set boundaries without being too aggressive Or seeming cold? How can I practice changing my habit to speaking up for myself rather than shrinking for others? (Sry if this was too long)

How to avoid getting harassed when walking along

For context I’m a high schooler and walk to school alone bc not many ppl that live in my neighborhood walk. the streets I go are busy w cars and have many homeless (not to sound rude) but I sometimes get yelled offensive things at and it really scares me. I’ve tried multiple ways to get to school too.

are there any gadgets I can carry on me to help me feel safer? Any specific way I can walk to make me less likely to get approached?

doesnt help that I have a petite build and am shy-looking. i also carry lots of necessary stuff in my hands to school every day

Dt lane 1 is the worst!

This was my first day doing dt lol as he 1 instead of 2. Apparently That’s the lane every single customer defaults to so you’re always so busy! And customers always complain on “what took so long????“ when literally the other lane is empty. like hello, pls observe your surroundings

Rude drive thru customer

Tdy I got a customer who asked me for the price of their meal after they alr paid so I said I couldn’t do it. They insisted on getting a manager and it got super heated so I had to run inside to get one. The dt line was also very long and they were holding up the line And cars behind were honking. Afterward I had like five cars demanding what took so long

Obviously I could’ve dealt with this better but since I’m new, I’m wondering how I can deal with situations like where a custumor asks for a manager at drive thru to avoid it affecting others

Tspmo

The strawberry hibiscus drink is out of season at our store, but I keep getting customers insisting on ordering it. I usually recommend the pdf drinks, but it’s still kinda annoying the sheer amount of ppl trying to convince me to give them the sh drink
