I am desperate !

I apologise for yet another progesterone post- but it’s urgent.
I (F25) haven’t slept in 4 nights and I’m in the early stages of traumatic grief so I Need that sleep.
I Started progest-e 4 days ago after months of research and thinking it would support my stress levels during this time . Started with two 60mg popcorn kernel sized drops (approx 12mg total ). Been titrating up slowly since not noticing anything else reaction wise and now am taking about 60mg progesterone total throughout the day. I’ve been too cautious to go higher .

0 sleep each night it’s like it’s put a safety lock on on my alertness. I’m not anxious or any other physical symptoms. Just cannot drift off anymore. (I had been prior to starting and post loss. )

I’ve not quit because I don’t want to induce an early period- I’m mid luteal now. I’m about to start taking sleeping pills at this point. Any advice please?

Edit: Thank you for the responses, I think I am going to slowly titrate down after day 21.

advice for 67 year old mother

my mom is 67 and just lost her husband of 40 years. she is Post-Polio (had it when she was young likely from vaccine) and sees a chinese medicine practitioner who has had her on 2 coffee enemas daily and low carb keto cycles for over ten years now. She insists that this and powerful acupuncture are the only things that mitigate her leg pain (metal implants on one leg and she just had a new hip put in after a fall in Feb) and chronic fatigue. if she eats carbs( besides millet), or any sugar she gets hot flashes, pain, anxiety, insomnia, and all kinds of physical symptoms. The guy she sees is very thorough and knows his stuff i just worry about the keto of it all.

She is off the diet at the moment because of the grief but i am worried for her stress levels mostly. She developed frontal fibrosing alopecia a couple years ago from it. Trying to get her to limit PUFA and she likes the carrot salad but i know very little. Any insight from a peaty perspective would be interesting.

I can't process it

I found my dad dead two weeks ago, he was 66 and I'm 25. It was sudden and completely unexpected. He had 3 heart attacks before but all the doctors said they didn't need to see him for another year. He had check ups still and everything was great. He was in bed and wouldn't wake up.

I have struggled with cptsd panic disorder and agoraphobia for the last ten years. So I don't have much of a life outside of my family. I've lived with them my whole life. Spent almost every evening on the couch with him. My mum and my dad were my whole world. I cannot get my head around him being gone, and never seeing him again. We had a very close relationship. My mum was with him for 40 years and they were soulmates. She is broken.

I was crying a lot I the first week and the funeral. But now it's like he's just gone on a trip and I'm so confused as to why there are framed photos of him when I walk in the house. I remember and barely feel anything.

I don't know how to cope I know my brain is protecting me from the pain and panic that would come with realising, but I also know I'm going to miss him more with each day that passes. Everybody says to keep going with life and try get back out there but i dont have anything to get back to. I wanted to get better for him to see it and to rid me of the guilt of the stress i put him through the past years. It feels insurmountable to live a whole life now without him. I don't want to win the lottery without him I don't want to get better I don't want to marry the love of my life without him.

At home hormone test before progesterone (25f)

can anyone recommend me an at home test for hormones? looking to supplement progesterone for chronic severe insomnia and anxiety but i want to check my levels first as i have PMDD and want to be extra cautious. one that also tests cortisol would be ideal.

ray peat carrot salad is working wonders

my last few cycles have been night and day. posting incase even one person tries this out and it helps. 1 raw carrot peeled lengthwise from root to tip into ribbons. 1tsp coconut oil. 1tsp white or apple cider vinegar. pinch of salt. eat it everyday if possible or everyday in luteal. apprently it detoxes excess estrogen or something. great for general gut health too.
